`A Twitter user by the name @TateNhesv replied to this tweet with an analysis of the whole ordeal. To her, the issue is not the quantity of the lie, but the gravity of the lie. The lie was too big to have remained unknown to the wife.
A user by the name, @missnozipho, replied by telling of her similar experience. Her Ex had 6 children but only mentioned two and the relatives helped cover up this secret.
@lorrainemking, another user gave a unique perspective. According to her, it would have been better if the husband had lied about having been married, but not mentioning the children was unforgivable.
Though a number of people thought that this woman overreacted, another Twitter user going by the name of @joyruva had a different perspective. @joyruva thought that the woman filing for divorce was right and that girls ought to be raised to handle things like she did. According to her, a woman ought to have a well-defined deal breaker and call quits when the other party breaks these deals.
Though most people think that this divorce is valid, very looked at how the woman brought out the whole issue. According to @masiband_masi, though the reason for the divorce is valid, the way she handled the whole issue was dramatic.
Another user by the name @jeffreydanai, concurred with @masiband_masi. That the reaction of the woman was extra. He states that maybe the man knew this side of her where she was capable of divorcing him for this past, and decided to keep it unknown to avoid this end.
The one lie is not tiny or trivial, according to @anesuhmadiye. It is big and not worth keeping it unknown which led her to ask if he was capable of keeping his past unknown, what else was he capable of lying about?
While every reply looked at the woman’s and man’s perspectives, one reply gave the perspective of the children. According to a user called @NoviceNovivi, this would not have been a good move for the children, who would have felt bad for being excluded by their own father.
One thing that was off from the woman’s description of the ordeal, was how she kept on calling the whole ordeal a small thing. @SerTazzy, in her response, asked why the woman did not consider fighting for her marriage if the one lie was tiny as she termed it.
As everyone jumped into commenting on how the woman should have handled the lie, one user by the name of @calvin_smu, looked at the whole issue from a different view. he thought of the issue being about whether the wife asked about the past of the man, or the man did not just disclose. When one looks at this response, one would notice the sense in this, there is a fine line between lying and not disclosing. One may decide to withhold if not asked but would be sincere when asked about something.
While everyone supported the woman’s move for divorce, viewing her reason as valid enough, few saw the man as deserving of a second chance. However, the user by name @MboMahocs replied by saying that the one lie was not enough to make the decision to divorce him. This user said that if it were her, she would have forgiven him and given him another chance.
Another user came to represent others who did not believe in this story. @Strika_4SG asked why the children remained unknown to the wife, wondering if the family and friends never mentioned this to her beforehand.
@TinieSpecialKid, a Twitter user who responded to this tweet, saw the ordeal from two perspectives. To her, the past was one thing, and lying about it was another thing. Lying about his past made it even suspect.
As per the previous replies, people cited the reason behind the lie to have been the fear of the woman leaving if the man told the truth. Twitter user ruvimbo_1, came with a different perspective. That the truth could have kept their relationship intact. Lying tainted his character.
The whole issue came off as complicated, according to a Twitter user by the name @Tariro_M_Deve. Calling the one lie as tiny, a lie that involved three children is not accurate.
Different people divorce because of different reasons. This one lie that caused a divorce was a dealbreaker for this woman. It was something that she could not overlook and continue in their marriage. The Twitter responses gave different perspectives that illustrated that people are very different.
