Skincare: 6 Things You Must Do When Removing Your Makeup

You have to be an extremely disciplined human being to manage to carefully take all your makeup off every single night. If you are like many people, then you have probably gotten back home after a night out and been faced with the dilemma. On more than one occasion, you have probably jumped straight into bed with a full face of makeup. It happens to the best of us.

The truth of the matter is that makeup clogs your pores and interferes with the reparatory and cell regeneration process of the skin. It can lead to acne, premature ageing, and chapped lips. For this reason, it is extremely important that we learn how to properly take off our makeup, and especially for regular users. Here are seven things you must do when you are taking off your makeup.

  1. Use face wash and water to wash your face. Wipes won’t cut it

The idea that wipes can completely get rid of makeup sounds too good to be true, and it is. Wipes can be an excellent initial step in removing makeup, but a proper sink session should ideally follow. Using water and face wash or a makeup remover is what’s really going to remove residue and prep your skin for a good night regimen. If you use only wipes and then apply moisturizer, you might push dirt into your pores and wake up with pimples or blackheads. Beauty: How To Get Rid Of Blackheads

  1. Cleanse

The products used for makeup are not necessarily the best for your skin. So, the first thing you have to do is cleanse it. Massage the cleanser over your face and let it sit for 15 seconds, and don’t forget your hairline, under your chin, and around your ears. Then wipe with a wet, white cotton washcloth, so you can really see that all the makeup is gone. Consider using a cleansing oil, then following up with a regular cleanser. Cleansing oil can be nourishing and less harsh on dry skin, especially the delicate skin around your eyes. Beauty: 6 Benefits Of Using Cleansers

  1. Don’t forget your hairline

You must never forget to cleanse your hairline. Not doing so means you’re likely stopping a couple of inches short of your hairline when washing your face. People often accumulate makeup residue around their hairline, which leads to clogged pores and breakouts. You may get your roots a little wet, but it’s well worth it to be completely clean.

  1. Give your eyes some extra attention

Your eyes are an extremely sensitive area. Just like with any other part of the face, you will need to completely get rid of mascara and eyeliner or any other makeup around your eyes. Close your eyes and hold your cotton balls or makeup-removing pads over your lids and lashes for about ten seconds to give the remover time to dissolve the product before wiping. If there’s one zone that’s frequently neglected during makeup removal, it’s the elusive edge of your eyelid, where liner and mascara can build up over time and lead to eye irritation. You may want to spend some more time cleansing your eyes and giving them some extra attention.

  1. Use a toner

A good skincare routine always includes toner, which removes any last traces of dirt, grime, and impurities stuck in your pores after you wash your face. Now, when you’re getting rid of makeup, toner becomes even more important. Toner can be used as an extra cleansing step after using your rinse-off facial cleanser. It only takes a minute, and it may help sweep away the remains of stubborn makeup. Saturate a cotton pad with a few drops and gently wipe it across your skin. Toner also balances your skin PH after using a cleanser so it is important not to skip that step. 6 Benefits Of Using A Toner In Your Skincare Routine

  1. Moisturize your skin

After you’ve done all the work of getting rid of makeup from your face, it’s now time to nourish it. Never skip the moisturizing stage. You may apply the moisturizer on a damp face just to lock in some extra hydration. Pump up the moisture and give your face the tender loving care that it deserves with a water-based moisturizer. 6 Benefits Of Incorporating A Moisturizer Into Your Skincare Routine
