September is probably every man’s favourite month now that it’s the official month to take a man out. Yes, you read that right. If you’re not an active social media user, it may sound like something someone made up. However, social media has made it a thing, and now, every year, there’s a reason for men to look forward to the month as these Twitter users have shown.

A lot of my women have been asking me where I want to go since September is the ‘Take your man out on a date’ month. Please note that #UradiPremiere on 25th will do for me, 5K pekee yake and I'm yours for the night🥺🥺 pic.twitter.com/brEAeKu3qO

Whether it’s your boyfriend, husband, crush, side dish or entanglement this is the month to make the man in your life feel celebrated as they deserve it. However, most women aren’t used to asking guys out and things can go horribly wrong or right. Here are some pros and cons of ‘Take a man out’ September.

Pros

  1. It’s great to exercise your girl power.

Honestly, men look at you with a whole new level of respect when you can pay your own bills. So, imagine how much respect you’ll gain when you pay his bills too.

  1. You can shoot your shot.

If there’s a guy you’ve had a crush on but hasn’t made the move yet, you can use take a man out September as an excuse to ask him out. Here is How to ask a man out on a date gracefully

  1. You’ll take the pressure off him.

You’ve probably never had to plan a date throughout your relationship. This is a great time to ease that pressure from your significant other by planning the dates all month long.

  1. It’s a good story.

Everybody loves a good date story. Whether it goes good or bad, you’ll have a good story to tell at the end of the date. You might even end up telling your kids about how you met their father.

  1. It’s fun.

If you love thrills and stepping out of your comfort zone, this will be something fun to try. At the end of the day, you’ll enjoy yourself and you’ll most likely make someone’s day as well.

If you don’t have the money to do something extravagant you can still have a date night at home. Here are 5 Date Night Ideas To Try Out Here are also 8 Simple Date Ideas For Busy Parents

Cons

  1. There’s a lot of expectation.

Unlike men, most women have very little to no experience taking out someone of the opposite gender. Therefore, there’s a lot of pressure about where to go, what to talk about and who orders first.

  1. You could get rejected.

The worst-case scenario is that you get rejected if you ask your crush out on a date. However, it’s not about the rejection but how he does it. Some men can be arrogant and rude.

  1. It’s not very romantic.

If we’re completely honest, it’s not romantic to take out your significant other just because it’s September. Additionally, some men don’t even like switching roles and might not enjoy the date.

  1. It can be intimidating

We’re still very primal when it comes to courting and when a woman asks a man out, it could make the wrong impression. In some cases, the man could feel intimidated by this gesture.

  1. Change isn’t always good.

They say if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. Since the beginning of time, men have taken the lead in dating and courtship. Therefore, September or not, it may not work out the way you think it will. But don’t let society dictate what dating should look like if you are a bold lady take a chance and shoot your shot.

PS. Taking your man out does not mean going out with your man to your favourite places and then asking him to pay the bill and you asked him out.
