Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Many times we are busy and our go in the morning is bread and tea. But when you have time like over a weekend why not experiment and make pancakes? Pancakes don’t take a lot of time once you get the hang of it. Here is a pancake recipe you will find handy.
Ingredients
- All-purpose flour
- Sugar
- Salt
- An egg
- Lemon
- Baking powder
- Vanilla Margarine (Prestige). You can use any margarine of your choice.
Preparation.
Measure one and a half cups of flour into a mixing bowl.
Add a pinch of salt (optional).
Add two tablespoons of sugar or more if you have a sweet tooth (optional).
Add a tablespoon of baking powder to the bowl.
Mix the dry ingredients together.
Add the egg to the dry ingredients and mix.
Ensure that the egg has mixed completely until it looks something like the picture below.
Squeeze in the lemon juice – one lemon is enough. For those who prefer a tangier taste, you can grate the lemon peel.
Add a glass of water (milk) to your bowl and mix until it forms a smooth batter. You can add water or milk if your batter is too thick.
Pre-heat your pan; add two table spoons of Margarine. Let it melt. The margarine will supplement the oil you normally use while cooking.
Add the melted margarine into your bowl and mix.
Once your batter is evenly mixed, it is ready to cook.
In your pre-heated pan, pour out the batter depending on the size of pancakes you want.
Once the bubbles form, your pancake is cooked on one side turn and cook for a minute.
The end product is delicious, soft and puffy.
