Around the globe, many women have been liberated from the pangs of early marriages and arranged marriages. Of course, this is still an issue in many parts of the world.

In most parts of the world, particularly in Africa, love was never a factor considered when getting married.  But over the years, education and empowerment have freed women, and most of them are at liberty to date and choose the man they want to marry.

Love is one of the core ingredients that stir relationships to marriages or long-lasting unions that build families. Therefore, the love shared and experienced must be genuine and able to sustain a relationship.

We’ve all read the tips on how to keep a man, how to entice them, make them feel special and all other kinds of information about the same. As such, it’s rather important for men to also understand that women are humans too, and they require the same effort and energy for relationships to last.

Women filing for divorce have shared reasons like emotional unavailability, lies, cheating and disrespect as some of the reasons for filing. High-profile relationships are such a good example of why women might fall out of love. A Twitter Discussion About Why Men Check In To Marriages When Women Are Checking Out – The Responses Will Give You Something To Think About

Some of the reasons why a woman might fall out of love

  • Unfulfilled promises

Women love a man whose word matches up with his actions. There’re too many tales of men making empty promises to women, and then leaving them in limbo.

It’s important to only commit yourself to the things that you are certain to provide, within your means or are working towards achieving.

Veteran writer, Beryl Itindi shared that her baby daddy promised her heaven on earth when she got pregnant, only to end up in a bedbug’s infested hostel, sleeping on a double-decker, struggling to survive. Honestly, would like this experience for yourself?

  • Insecurity

A Twitter user shared the other day that his sister was off WhatsApp for a while, so he called to check up on her. Apparently, her husband asked her to uninstall the app because she shared a picture of herself, something he doesn’t approve of.

Such a level of insecurity is a public display of your lack of confidence, boldness and maybe a sense of humour, therefore, fearful that someone else might be better than you.

Insecurities are such a turn-off and red flag that ladies are always looking out for.

  • Poor communication

Communication is an essential factor in most relationships and how you express yourself really matters.

Talking to a woman, instead of talking with them is often a cue to leave for most women.

The modern liberated woman prefers to be consulted and her views heard and incorporated. It’s important to communicate with respect if you are of a contrary opinion, without dragging down your lady.

  • Controlling behaviour

Our friend group is still mourning the exit of one of the girls because her boyfriend demanded that she ends our friendship because we weren’t very supportive of their relationship.

We’ve all watched all these drams unfold on our screens when women relegate their own opinions, to take their husband’s advice to keep the marriage.

Women don’t appreciate controlling men. Trying to control and dictate what a woman does only makes them question your personal integrity and waters down the love they have for you.

  • Sexual, verbal, physical or emotional abuse

Emancipated women expect their partners to treat them as equals and not lesser beings.

We are way past the retrogressive traditions that permitted men to slap their wives as they wish. Women know their rights.

Be cautious of how you treat women because any form of violence shows them the door and a court case to crown it all.

  • Zero time and a valuable investment in the relationship

Women appreciate the effort. They love to see you try, take your time to indulge and know what better ways you can be of support to each other.

If there’s no meaningful addition you are making to a woman’s life, trust they will be out looking for better.

  • Disrespect

Signing pre-nuptials has ensured that women no longer stay in unions that demean them.

Respect is a two-way traffic, treating a woman like a doormat will most definitely provoke them to file for a divorce or end a relationship, because they are financially stable or independent, dismantling one of the factors that made women stay in unhappy unions.

  • Breach of trust

Lies, constant cheating, and inconsistencies will have your lady packing up her bags sooner than you thought.

If you.ve talked about these things, changed behaviour is the only comprehensible language in such situations.

Continued betrayal of trust will result in a divorce or the end of the relationship because will have slowly waned out.

7 Ways To Build Trust In A Relationship

  • Lack of purpose

Ladies love a man with a plan. Let’s talk about the future. What are your dreams, goals and aspirations?

No woman wants to be saddled with a man that’s quietly sailing through life with no plan! Somebody has to pay for the insurance.
