Jojoba oil, compared to coconut oil, has a number of overriding benefits. Its extracted from a shrub and packaged in its natural form. However, jojoba oil is slightly more expensive than coconut oil since it’s harder to obtain. But, trust me, it’s worth your coin. Here are some benefits jojoba oil has over coconut oil.

  1. Cleanser

When talking about a cleanser, oil is the last thing that comes to mind. However, oils dissolve oils and that is why the best cleansers are oil-based. Jojoba oil contains sebum which is similar to the oils found on human skin as opposed to other vegetable oils. Therefore, it works best as a cleanser.

Coconut oil does not contain any cleansing properties. On the contrary, it’s advisable not to use coconut oil on your face since it clogs the pores.

Beauty: 6 Benefits Of Using Cleansers

  1. Moisturizer

As for moisturizing, both jojoba oil and coconut oil can be used as a moisturizer. however, as mentioned before, coconut oil solidifies on your skin thus causing more harm than good.

Jojoba oil doesn’t solidify due to its relation with sebum. Therefore, it is a better moisturizer than coconut oil and doesn’t pose a risk of causing breakouts.

6 Benefits Of Incorporating A Moisturizer Into Your Skincare Routine

  1. Shaving Oil

Many shaving creams contain harmful chemicals that cause serious health effects on your skin such as burns and irritation, especially for sensitive skin. Additionally, while shaving, razors can irritate your skin. There’s some good news, however. Jojoba oil reduces the irritation caused by razors. Apply the oil and let it sit for about 15 minutes to soften and create a smooth surface for the razor. This will reduce the pulling of the hairs which cause bumps and burns.

Coconut oil does not soften the hair follicles or reduce irritation while shaving.

  1. Hair Treatment

Though coconut oil is a good hair moisturizer, jojoba contains more saturated ingredients that make it the better choice in moisturizing and treating your hair. It promotes hair growth, reduces dandruff and hair loss.

Jojoba oil dissolves the dirt build up on your scalp and nourishes the follicles hence promoting hair growth.

  1. Treats Skin Disorders

People suffering from skin diseases such as eczema that is caused by extreme dryness or infections can use jojoba oil to treat the disorder. It contains Vitamin B and Omega that is great for fighting infection and improving the body’s immunity. Apply the oil to the affected area twice daily and you will see results in no time.

6. Cooking Oil

In terms of edibility, coconut oil is the winner. Not only does it add extra flavour to your food, but it is also a healthier cooking oil and contains ingredients that accelerate fat burning. Studies also show that populations that eat coconut oil are healthier. Additionally, coconut oil improves your dental hygiene since it fights off harmful bacteria that cause cavities and bad breath. 11 Reasons You Should Be Using Coconut Oil

Jojoba oil is no edible thus does not contain these health benefits.

Though some might argue that both coconut and jojoba oil are pretty similar, there’s evidence that jojoba contains more benefits as a beauty oil. Here are 7 Benefits Of Using Face Oils In Your Skincare Routine
