Famous Grouse was created in 1897 by Matthew Gloag whose signature is still printed on every bottle sold today. The drink matures for a minimum of three years in oak casks in Scotland. The distinctions of the flavour come largely from the hand-crafted Spanish and American Oak casks in which the liquid rests and matures thereby contributing to the flavour of The Famous Grouse whiskey. Famous Grouse is manufactured by UK-based Edrington producing over 39 million bottles of The Famous Grouse every year. Its premium quality remains the same delivering 40% Alcohol Volume for both 750ml and 1 Litre packs.
