Since OPPO’s inception in 2019, videography and portrait photography have had a special place in
OPPO. The OPPO Reno 8 delivers a ‘Portrait Expert’ experience to its users which presents dual Sony
flagship sensors with the front camera having a new generation IMX709 RGBW and the main camera having an IMX766 sensor.
Positive feedback from users motivated the development of imaging technology since OPPO noted
among the Reno users; 40% of photos are taken past 5:00 PM and 50% go for videos therefore OPPO had to upgrade the portrait capabilities in the Reno 8 series.
Unlocking unlimited image in power with dual Sony flagship sensors
With low lighting, OPPO had to invent the Quadra Benning Algorthim start helps capture 60% more light and reduces noise by 35% in comparison to the RGGB traditional setup, thus the phone
captures brighter and cleared images while still maintaining colour accuracy in low-light situations.
For users to become ‘Portrait Experts’ the algorithm had to function, thus oppo partnered with
Sony has IMX709 RGBW for the front 32MP camera which delivers the best power-to-performance ratio, and Sony IMX766 50 MP on its main camera which features a 1 /1.56-inch sensor size and 1um pixel which can be doubled in size to 2um, using the quadra Benning algorithm which delivers the best power to performance ratio.
Other than low lights back lights had been a common problem and smartphones with traditional
camera sensors resulted in strange ghosting effects on images. for this DOL-HDR technology
was incorporated in both the front IMX709 and the rear IMX766 sensor. Thus users are assured that whenever they passed in front of a sunset or moonlight every image and video would look brighter and sharper.
Night Photography
OPPO Reno8 series gives the users ability to capture stunning portrait videos in any situation thanks to flagship senses as well as AI-based portrait features.
Ultra nights video
The OPPO Reno8 algorithm detects ambience light and automatically increases image brightness colour expression and facial features sharpened bringing beauty to everything.
Ultra HDR Video -Unfazed by back-light
For Ultra HDR videos, the OPPO Reno8 5G develops DOL-HDR On the phone, therefore enabling it to detect a high dynamic range of scenes, and automatically frame with enhanced dynamic range and true-to-life colour. Users experience expert painters in their pockets.
Night portrait pro-level photos at your reach:
In any smartphone, nighttime photography is an issue. OPPO Reno8 has added two features that
improve night portrait capability by 39.7% compared to the previous Reno7 series. With the inclusion of the industry-leading Turbo RAW algorithm, noise is reduced in all three R/G/B channels using AI neural networks.
When users press the shutter, photos are taken without a delay thus allowing them to capture sharp nighttime portraits as they appear.
Smart natural portraits
AI Portraits retouching uses 193 facial recognition points to identify facial features and remove imperfections like pimples, acne, scars, and spots which intelligently retouch skin tones and makeup without artificial or excessive brightening. On beautifying filter users are given the confidence to keep shining and bring out their personality which heavily relied on oppo’s research on skin tone and beauty preferences of users around the world.
The new OPPO Reno8 5G is packed with incredible camera features taking the Reno series to a new level of portrait performance. With OPPo’s mission as the ‘Portrait Expert’, it hopes its users enjoy the right camera and best imaging features needed to capture; as they had envisioned the beauty of everyday life.
