Mastering the art of sex talk is more than sending a dirty message or whispering naughty things in your partner’s ear. It’s like a dance and you need to have rhythm or else you’ll be all over the place. And no matter what your partner says, it’s not a good look. Sex talk has been around for decades and centuries, even. In fact, intimate letters between famous authors of that era such as Ernest Hemingway and their lovers have made their way to the internet shedding light on how sex talk was back then. It seems like nothing much has changed but many still struggle in that department. So, here are a few tips that can help you improve your sex talk.

  1. Start With Compliments

Sex talk can be awkward for both parties. You can make yourself and your partner comfortable by starting with a compliment. This is one of the easiest ways to get in the mood without necessarily saying something sexy. Telling your partner that you love something particular about them or complimenting their physical features will boost their confidence and put them in a good mood. You can start things off by letting them know how aroused you are because of them.

  1. Read Erotic Novels Or Poems

Sex talk is like any other activity. The more you practice the better you become. So, don’t expect to be good at it the first or second time you try it. one of the best ways to master the art of sex talk is to read erotic novels. You’ll get a good idea of what to say and how to say it. You can also borrow some lines. If you’re not a fan of reading, you can watch erotic movies or read poems.

  1. Urgency Is Key

If you’ve read any kind of erotic text, you’ll notice that the writer shows urgency while talking dirty. They’ll use words like “I want you now” or “I can’t wait to have you”. This sort of urgency might seem desperate but it’s actually sexy. It shows that they’re eager and longing for their partner. You can go further and describe exactly what you want to do to make the sex talk spicier. The more details the better.

  1. Say What You Want

There are no wrong or right things to say when it comes to sex talk. In fact, one of the basics of talking dirty is to say what you want. Don’t hold back, especially if you’re new to it as this will help captivate your partner’s attention. It will also help you have a clear trail of thought and you won’t have to overdo the sex talk. You can describe your favourite positions or what turns you on. Once you get the hang of it, you can move on to other things.

  1. Don’t Use Too Much Profanity

Sex talk is an art so you have to make your language beautiful. Even though you’re free to say what you want, it has to be in a romantic manner as your partner prefers. Most people prefer a little dirty talk with few swear words. Even if your partner likes sex talk filled with profanities, every person has particular trigger words that feel too jarring for them. Learn what your partner likes then do it.

  1. Ask For Feedback

The best way to improve your sex talk is to hear constructive feedback straight from the source. However, you should hold your questions until after the intimate moment is over lest you kill the vibe. This can be part of your pillow talk as you can ask for your partner’s opinion while you’re still in an intimate mood. Remember to accept any tips gracefully and avoid getting defensive. After all, it’s what your partner prefers and you have to respect that. Next time, you can impress them more by implementing some of the feedback.
