With an array of coveted smartphones on its portfolio, Oppo has gone ahead and released the Oppo Reno4 into the Kenyan market. This phone is the latest on the Reno series, and it comes with additional features from its predecessor the Reno3. But before we can touch on Oppo’s first smartwatch which also joins the accessories availed by the global smart device brand, let’s look at the features that make the Oppo Reno4 retail at Ksh 39,999.
Design
Oppo Reno4 boasts its slim-sleek design and its lightweight build. The smartphone measures 7.7mm thick and it weighs 165g making it easy to hold in one hand or carry without feeling its weight.
On its aesthetic front, Oppo Reno4 comes in two colours, that is Galactic blue and Space black. Nonetheless, aside from the unique colours, you might relish the Reno Glow design technology even more. Reno glow application on the back cover of the Oppo Reno4 means you won’t have to deal with fingerprints and smudges on your smartphone since the material is matte and thus fingerprint-resistant. Additionally, the subtle glittery details enhance the appearance of the smartphone, giving it a vibrant, glossier and premium look.
The OPPO Reno4 phone comes with a 6.4inch screen estate and a dual punch-hole display for optimum maximization of screen area.
Camera
Hailed as the smartphone to spark your creativity and unlock the best you, Oppo Reno4 incorporates an imaging technology that allows you to take exceptional portraits and videos. This rear camera has triple cameras including; 48MP main camera, 8MP Ultra wide-angle camera, 2MP Macro camera and a 2MP mono camera. The front camera has 32MP for better selfies.
The new AI colour portrait applied in both the rear and front camera recognizes the outline of a subject retaining its vibrant colours if the image is taken against a black and white background. This feature applies for videos, monochrome video capture, three new stabilisation modes under the Ultra Steady Video 3.0 and an Electronic Image Stabilization algorithm to the front camera with Front Steady Video.
The AI-enhanced smart sensor
Oppo Reno4 introduces a new era in technology by leveraging AI enhanced smart sensor to perform functions like smart Always-On display, smart Air-control, smart rotation and smart spying prevention. With this technology, the Reno4 can recognise whether an owner or a stranger is looking at the phone. For instance, if a notification pops up and a stranger peeps at the phone the smart sensor will hide the content of the notification including the banner notifications and drop-down notification drawers. This reduces the risk of unauthorised persons intruding your privacy and guarantees more control over who can access your phone’s content.
Smart aircontrol sums up the different ways you can control your phone with just a wave of your hand. This includes picking up phone calls or scrolling through apps like TikTok, Youtube, Facebook and Instagram.
With smart rotation, you don’t have to switch on the auto-rotation feature since the OPPO Reno4 can intelligently recognise the orientation of your smartphone and adapt accordingly.
