The sleek and elegant Samsung Galaxy S10 series has joined the family and is causing quite a stir in the market. The series comprises of the S10 Plus, S10 and S10e with a bonus Samsung Fold. They come in time for Samsung’s 10th anniversary to revolutionize the mobile phone industry with cutting edge technology and its one-of-a-kind design.
During the unpacking, Samsung announced a number of notable features. Of course, the foldable and Infinity-O display stole the show. While folded, the Samsung Fold has a 4.6 in the display but unfolds to a 7.3 in tablet display for maximum media experience. This large display makes it more enjoyable to watch your favourite movies or read e-books. The hinges are also seamless which gives this phone a polished finish. You can also customize the hinge colours.
However, this phone comes with a hefty price tag of $1,980 and will not be available in the Kenyan market. It was nice ogling at it, though.
Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, S10 & S10e
These S10 phones are more in line with the local market. The cheaper S10e targets the younger generation while still offering top-notch features as its pricier siblings.
Samsung retains its infinity display with the S-series. However, they have made some slight improvements to the S10 and S10 Plus display with the Infinity-O display. It uses a double hole punch notch to reduce bezels. Additionally, these phones have device to device charging.
Both phones use Snapdragon 855 processor and run on an 8GB RAM. This means that multitasking and playing heavy games will be as smooth as possible. Speaking of multi-tasking, the devices have triple-multi-tasking abilities so you can reply to messages, watch YouTube and use Google at the same time. The phones also have base storage of 128GB and 512GB respectively. The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus has an option of 1TB storage. That’s more than most laptops.
They have ultra-sonic fingerprint unlock with an intelligent reader which makes it impossible for someone to unlock your phone with a copy of your fingerprint. Additionally, the smart Wi-Fi feature provides a reliable and secure connection even on public networks.
Their camera (or should I say cameras?) is something out of this world. They have a total of 5 cameras including 3 back cameras and 2 front ones. the back cameras include two 12 megapixels and 16 megapixels’ lenses while the front includes 10 megapixels and 8 megapixels. The cameras capture stunning images both in the day and nighttime. The ultra-wide angle feature allows you to capture exactly what you see. You can count on the camera’s stabilization feature to give you smooth videos. The selfie camera also captures crisp images and videos with amazing results.
The Samsung S10 series is now available for pre-order and the first 1,000 pre-orders will receive free Galaxy Buds. The Galaxy Buds are basically like iPhone’s air pods – only cooler. They will later be available for purchase for Ksh 20,000. Additionally, every purchase comes with Samsung’s high-end earphones and wireless charger. The deal couldn’t get any sweeter.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus costs Ksh 127, 999 for the 8GB/512GB model and Ksh 105, 999 for the 8GB/128GB model. The Samsung Galaxy S10 costs Ksh 95, 999 while the Galaxy S10e costs Ksh 78,999. They are all available for pre-order from today and the phones will be in the market on March 8th, 2019.
