Bone broth is a delicious beverage made from boiling bones from animals like chicken, goats and cows. This results in an appetizing drink enjoyed during cookouts mostly. Apart from being delicious and adding flavour to food, bone broth has its fair share of health benefits. It contains nutrients such as Vitamin A & K, Iron, Zinc and Magnesium all which are beneficial to the body. Here are some of its health benefits.

One of the main health reasons people drink bone broth is to strengthen their bones. As we grow older, our bones lose their elasticity making us prone to disease like arthritis. When broth simmers, it pulls gelatin from the bones. Gelatin acts as a cushion for the bones and when ingested, its absorbed into the body. Elderly people should add it to their diet so as to lessen joint problems.

Bone broth is a good source of collagen which helps to improve the skin’s elasticity. This reduces the appearance of fine lines and makes the skin look younger and more vibrant. Therefore, you can take bone broth to slow down the ageing process. It also strengthens your nails and gives your shinier, healthier hair.

Your gut bacteria influence your brain functionality. When you have a healthy gut, this sends happy signals to your brain thus improving your mood.
