Skin care regimens have become more and more complicated as the beauty industry advances. At the same time, skin care is necessary for flawless skin. These regimens can be quite expensive and inaccessible to most ordinary people who are not raking millions from make-up videos. They can also be time-consuming which, again, might not work for a busy lifestyle.

Review.

I noticed I started to break out a lot from mid to late last year which was frustrating since I was used to having normal skin. This was caused by wearing makeup on most days and having a daily routine that involved a lot of physical energy. This led to dirt build up which caused my skin to breakout. I had almost given up on searching for a skin care routine that was perfect for me and others alike until I was introduced to Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.

The product is easy to use as it does not require any rinsing or scrubbing. You simply put the product on a cotton pad and wipe your face with gentle stroke motions.  The process does not take more than 5 minutes and your face will be makeup and dirt free.

It is multi-purpose. While the main purpose of Garnier’s Micellar Water is to cleanse the skin from sweat and dirt, it can be used for several other things. It is a great makeup remover. It can be used to correct makeup mistakes and it can also be used as a double cleanser to removes excessive makeup instead of cleansing with an exfoliator.

It is very light on the skin and it does not feel oily or sticky. This does not mean that it leaves the skin dry. On the contrary, Micellar water moisturizes the skin giving you a glow.  The product comes in two options -water based or oil based. The oil-based cleanser is suitable for dry skin to normal skin while the water-based cleanser is suitable for normal to oily skin. Both products feel refreshing to the skin.

Micellar Water is quite effective. Within a week of using the product, I noticed my break out was completely gone and my skin was glowing. Nowadays I don’t use any moisturizer on my face and I have even skin tone.

The product is cost friendly and readily available.  I purchased mine on Jumia Kenya but it is also available on Sugar Punch’s website and most beauty shops in town. It comes in a 400 ml bottle that retails for around Kshs. 500 and a travel-size 200ml bottle that goes for Kshs. 300.

The only issue with the product is that it is not an exfoliating cleanser. What this means is, you can’t use the product alone and expect beautiful, flawless skin. I use mine as a daily cleanser but I still use an exfoliating scrub at least twice a week.

Pros.

  • Cost friendly
  • Easy to use
  • Time-saving
  • Effective
  • Multi-purpose

Cons

  • Needs other products

I am pretty impressed by this product and will be using it for a long time. It’s not too late to try something new with your skin and though most products claim to do things that they don’t, Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water has gone beyond what I expected.
