Sunday is often the day most people use to go to church, spend time with their family and friends. You just want to relax and gather your strength before you start your work week on Monday. One great activity you can get into one day or even make a Sunday tradition is going for brunch. Good food is sure to make any Sunday better. With the growing brunch culture, there are various places in Nairobi one can get affordable and worthwhile brunch offers. Here are a couple of my picks.

Brew Bistro Lounge

The great thing I love about the Brew Bistro Brunch is that it has a couple of options for you to pick from. They host it every Sunday from 11am-4pm. The food offered includes: a barbecue station, noodles, eggs, waffles, pastries, bacon, pancakes, salad bar, and seafood.  They have 3 options for customers to pick from;

  • For Kshs 1500 for unlimited barbecue and access to the live cooking station
  • Kshs 1800 for unlimited barbecue and access to the live cooking station and one pint of beer
  • Kshs 3000 for unlimited barbecue and access to the live cooking station and unlimited mimosas.

Villa Rosa Kempinski

The brunch here is served every Sunday at the Café Villa Rosa. It starts at 12.30pm and ends at 5.00pm. The all you can eat buffet includes more lunch items than it does breakfast items due to the timing. It offers different cuisines such as Arabic, Malaysian and Asian. You get to indulge your taste buds with shawarmas and sushi. You also get to enjoy the live pasta station along with freshly grilled pizzas. For the meat section, you have lamb, fish, beef, chicken and so much more.

There are various freshly squeezed juices plus coffee and tea for those who prefer that. The charges are Kshs. 4,000 per person and Kshs. 5,500 per person for an additional free-flowing Prosecco. If you drop by for brunch for 9 Sundays, you are invited to wine and dine to your fill on the 10th Sunday for free.  You can book reservations during the week to ensure that you get a table.

Brioche Café and Bistro

If you are looking for a great place to enjoy brunch with your family this is the place to go. Brioche is a French is Café located at the Watermark Business Park in Karen. The Brunch which runs every Sunday offers foods such as hotdogs, nyama choma, roast maize, pumpkin soup, burgers, salad bar, waffles, pastries, juices etc. They have a specially crafted menu for children so you need not worry about your children’s needs. Once you are done eating, you can go for a walk in their beautiful gardens. Additionally, the children can have fun in the bouncing castle. The charges are Kshs 1,590 per person for unlimited food between 10am-3.00pm.

Pan Asian Yao

Thinking of treating your taste buds to something a little different? You should check out the Pan Asian Yao Brunch every Sunday. It is located along UN Avenue in Gigiri. They offer a great range of Asian Cuisine so you can expect a lot of seafood. You get to enjoy Dim Sim which is a style of cuisine prepared in small portions, sushi, duck, turkey, fried rice, prawns, noodles etc. For dessert, you get to stuff yourself with as marshmallows, chocolate, cake and ice-cream as you want. The brunch runs from 12 pm- 5.00pm and it will cost you Kshs 2,200 or Kshs 3,000 inclusive of cocktails and wine.

Best Western Plus Meridian Hotel

This restaurant located along Muranga Road offers brunch every Sunday. Their food options include their poolside grills, healthy salads, hot buffet, breakfast cereals, pastries, live egg station, desserts. They also have a specially crafted kids menu.
