The cold that cut through
The warmth of family,
Dad is gone
Lost in infidelity,
Alcohol and drugs
Hiding from reality,
Sons and daughters
The mistake of their love unity,
Plastic smiles on their faces
Hiding misery,
The crocked portrait on the wall
Of a perfect family,
Lies and deceit
The truth on their plate they eat daily,
They cry in the rain
In the sun their faces shining,
When you look at them
It’s the picture of a perfect family.
