Somebody is closer to walking away with a cash prize of 1.5 million Kenyan shillings and a ticket to the Pan African Airtel Trace Music event. The winner of the Airtel TRACE Music Star will be revealed on 10th January 2015 for the Kenya edition.
The six finalists are Bliss, Webi, Joy, Njeri, Phyllis and Trina. There will be an opportunity to vote for your favourite contestant to be the next big thing. The winner from Kenya go to the Pan African event – Pan African Airtel Trace Music Star competition which involves 13 other countries at the end of February 2015. Judges judges Chris Adwar, Atemi Oyungu, and Wyre listened to submissions and selected the best 6 finalists. The six were selected based on a combination of singing skills – quality, pitch, originality, tone, range. The competition also allowed for members of the public to vote for their favourite singer through a short code 33733. The contestant with the highest number of votes was considered when selecting the finalists.

Winner – cash prize worth 1.5 million and a ticket to compete at the Pan African event.
First runners up will walk away with a phone worth Sh 90 000 and cash worth Sh100 000, with the second runners up winning a phone worth Sh 50 000 and cash worth Sh 50 000.
The overall Pan African winner will walk away with a prize of 30 000 Euros in cash, a recording deal with Universal music, mentorship by AKON and a 5 star trip to New York City.
