Durban has one season – summer. It is a major centre of tourism because of its warm subtropical climate and great beaches. Durban has the busiest port in Africa. The attractions in Durban include the Sea World Aquarium, the Moses Madhida Stadium (where Top Gear South Africa will be happening), Ushaka Marine World, Umhlanga Rocks, the Durban Botanical Gardens, the Golden Mile which is good for strolling or biking, golf courses, and then you can also walk around the living fossils at the Botanical Gardens.
Johannesburg is soaked in history. There are so many historical sites to visit. There are Mandela tours, Mahatma Gandhi tours, tours to the Apartheid museum, Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory, Mandela House Museum, and the Chancellor’s house among other interesting tours.
Johannesburg is a great city for shopping, history, fine dining, good food – you can even find Kenyan dishes. There are many activities that you can take part in like bungee jumping or golf, and you can even have a day of fun at Gold reef city which is a large amusement park. It is located in an old gold mine. The staff dress in costumes of the 1880s and there is a museum dedicated to gold mining.
Johannesburg is known for fashion and shopping. You can shop until you drop in Sandton City. There is also entertainment, vibrant nightlife, culinary delights and sports. Johannesburg has the biggest human-made forest in the world. You can book a tour to Soweto, the Lion Park, or go to the Montecasino which is home to cinemas, a casino and the largest theatre in Africa.
