Njeri Ngige says she has come to love stillness and slow mornings. She enjoys sitting at home and watching a movie with her children. Something about her, this was so hard to do as she had moved to a very private level of the game called LIFE. Njeri is resilient and a kind learner of life. The BEST lesson is; Loyalty has a price, and the currency is the cost of your soul.
- What do you do and what impact do you think it creates in your industry or the world?
I am a Digital Marketing Manager. I contribute my professional skills in an organization that makes an impact in the world through the that we do, by using innovative technology to save lives through climate change actions. Creating communication and wider awareness of the core of life-saving and having social impact through technology is very fulfilling for me. Plus, I am a heart worker, and fulfilling helps me wake up in the morning.
- What things would you change along the way if you had a chance to go back to the past?
If you asked me this question almost 3yrs ago, I would have given you a LONG list of what I now consider BAD DECISIONS, but, they all worked to serve me and impacted this version of Njeri.
- What would you say are the top three skills needed to succeed at your current job?
WOW; Willingness to learn, willingness to teach and the grit to get down and dirty and do the work at the end of the day.
- What do you love to do, that makes you light up when you talk about it?
My totos, anyone who has asked me about them knows this. These boys know my heart, they have heard it internally and when they came out they are IN LOVE with me.

- What motivates you to keep going?
Fear and Faith. Faith that because I woke up, the God I believe in still needs me to fulfil some purpose. Fear it makes me so uncomfortable & I just want to move a bit away from that discomfort.
- How do you define success?
I actually saw a video that summarized it. You fall, you wake up and climb, and keep going through the process until YOU can stand.
- What is more important for you, passion or purpose or both? Why?
My relationship with MY Jesus. If it were not for my faith I would not be here.
- A lot of people like to talk about success but not failure. We are told to embrace failure on our road to success. Is there one time you failed at something you were working on that taught you valuable lessons that you can share?
I failed at many things, I love to refer to myself as “the worst of sinners”.
Lesson 1. Cry the tears and LIVE your truth.
Lesson 2. FORGIVE.
Lesson 3. The value of silence in the journey.
Lesson 4. The value of a calm home, no matter the turmoil outside and internally, the home must be the hearth where healing begins and is facilitated.
Lesson 5. Embrace who you are in the moment and be kind to yourself, selfish even, but DO NOT HURT others if you have it within yourself to be aware of this.
- Have you ever faced imposter syndrome? How do you deal with it?
ALMOST every day, I look at my end-of-year reports on all the projects and campaigns that I did and gives me the motivation to keep working.
- What advice would you give somebody just starting out in your line of work?
Trust your gut, be creative, drive for data, and report on it WITHOUT emotions. Learn a different skill (Product Management, Data Science, Project Management)
- Are there specific books or movies or podcasts you would recommend to somebody for them to get a better sense of what success is or what success could be like?
Books; The Bible, How to do Nothing, Lean I & Good girls finish last. Read like your life depends on it. Read,

- What do you like to do outside of work?
NOTHING. I really want to learn how to ride a bike and brunch with friends.
