10 Types Of Neighbours You Would Not Wish To Live Next To

Homes ought to be peaceful so that after leaving the hustles of the outside world and retiring to home, one can rest and have a good time. One can do everything within their power to make everything comfortable within the house, but have you lived next to a bad neighbour whose life affects your peace in one way or another?

Here are ten types of neighbours you would never wish to live next to.

1. The noisy one

Living next to such a neighbour makes you crave the peace that comes with silence. In one way or the other, noise has to go from their house. Most of the time, though, it is loud music. Other times, they are busy having loud conversations on the phone or with somebody.

The top on this list of noisy neighbours is the upcoming musician. You will either be struggling with noise from their drums or guitar and efforts to make them consider their behaviour will fall on deaf ears.

A bad neighbour will make you struggle with too much noise.

2. The regular party host

For this neighbour, parties are a thing every weekend. A weekend is not complete if they have had no people and drinks in their house. As a neighbour, yours is to get used to crowds every weekend because even if you are occupied, you will need to go back to your home however late, and we all know that parties go into late of the night. They do not listen to requests to turn down the music or only occasionally have a party. Many times the landlord or caretaker has to be called to intervene. They will behave for one week and then go back to partying.

5 Things To Consider When Partying Responsibly

3. The experimenting chef

This neighbour probably dreamed of becoming a chef, and everything in line with this can be seen from their regular experimentation with foods. From frying avocados to strange smells from whatever they try to make, you never know what will hit your nose next. While there are chefs who make delicious-smelling things that make you want to go over and ask for a bite of the food these ones just leave the corridor or area smelling bad. You wish they would just call it quits and buy food like other people or get somebody to cook for them.

4. The unfriendly neighbour

Neighbours are not necessarily your friends. However, a level of friendliness can exist between you and your neighbours. A type of friendliness that may be seen in greeting each other when you meet.

When you live next to an unfriendly neighbour, you forget about the greetings because their stare is cold, or they will even pass like they have not seen you and there is nothing you can do about it.

5. The neighbour with dodgy activities

Some neighbours engage in suspicious activities. Not that you are poking your nose into other people’s businesses, but there is hope that one lives in a safe neighbourhood without any illegal undertakings.

This neighbour has strange people coming and going at all-night hours. Also, their life remains a mystery because you do not know what they do, and you rarely see them. You only have an idea of who they are. They sometimes have expensive cars (for the neighbourhood you live in) and have expensive things. Nobody knows what they do and there are whispers that they do illegal things like wash wash or selling drugs.

6. The one who borrows things without returning

Sometimes, the neighbourhood involves helping each other from time to time. This means that borrowing may be a part of the whole equation. However, there is this neighbour who will borrow a thing or two and fail to return ultimately. To get this item back, you will have to go and ask for it.

Another one falling in this category of neighbours are those that borrow and return the items while damaged or soiled. You are left wondering whether to ask them to buy you another one or just let it slide for the sake of the relationship.

7. The one whose pets soil your space

This neighbour has pets all over the place and they don’t take care of them. They get into your house, and others soil your space or take stuff from your house. If you love animals this might not be an issue but if you don’t it can be irritating. Every time, conversations revolve around how their pet has invaded your space and how they need to keep them tamed.

8. The nosy neighbour

Another weird neighbour can’t keep their nose out of your business. These always mind your business. Their antennas are up high in a bid to know what is going on in your house. You may find them from time to time staring at the activities in your homestead. They want to know who has visited and what they wanted as if they are marking a register.

9. The one with fishy behaviour

Sometimes, you are not nosy as a neighbour, but your neighbour is fishy in their dealings, and you can’t help but notice because they keep everything bare. You will see different individuals enter their house for the weekends, each weekend a new face so that you can’t tell who the partner is.

Whether you always want to mind your own business or be a very tolerant and accommodating neighbour, these types of neighbours won’t pass your radar because you have to notice them in this negative light. There is little one can do in some instances where the neighbour is uncooperative in their behaviour, leaving you with no choice but to find a way to live together.

10. The Neighbour who likes gossiping

Ending this list is a type of neighbour who wants a listening ear for the neighbourhood gossip that they are itching to tell somebody.  Their business involves getting juicy details about how people live their lives and looking for someone to sit down and analyse the gossip with. This neighbour will knock on your door deliberately to tell you about these things. Sometimes, they will spin the whole story that you were the one who told them and cause you trouble; other times, they will waste your precious time on things that do not concern you. This one has all the gossip on everyone. They are constantly trying to find out what is going on with the other neighbours not just for them but so that they can tell everyone else. They love gossiping which makes them loved by some and hated by others.

Whether you always want to mind your own business or be a very tolerant and accommodating neighbour, these types of neighbours will be in your face not under the radar because you have to notice them in this negative light. There is little one can do in some instances where the neighbour is bothersome in some way, and you can’t move or get them to change, leaving you with no choice but to find a way to live together.
