Kenyans always find a way to relieve tension, especially during serious times. There have been many memes circulating on social media around different aspects of the elections. If you are a fan of Twitter, then you know that a majority of the good ones are always on that app.
Here are a few interesting ones from different users.

Why should you wake up early and show up to the polling centre looking casual when you can spend time doing your makeup and turn heads as you walk in to vote?

During the debates, there were very many opposing thoughts about who is the best aspirant for different seats. Imagine having a discussion with someone and then realising they won’t even be voting for the person they are fighting for because they will be in their upcountry.
If you attended a boarding school, you know how exciting visiting days were. You were always hoping that your parent would show up early, so you spend time together, then they show up late. Now, as an adult, you see your parent waking up at 4 am to go vote, and you’re just wondering where this energy was back then.
You and your significant another end up voting in different polling stations. Sometime later, you call them, and they tell you there’s a queue, but behind the scenes, they’re busy cosying up with someone else.

As Kenyans, there is always this trend of wanting to skip the queue, especially when one knows the officials, but they end up clowning when they realise the officials are unwilling to get with the program.

The tension around elections is usually over the roof. Hopefully, these interesting tweets and others have relieved some pressure as we wait and hope for a peaceful post-election period.
