Apples make some of the best desserts since they’re full of flavour and go well in sweet or savory dishes. Not to mention, they smell delicious when cooking giving your home a warm and cozy feeling. Apple desserts are great for the cold season since that’s usually peak apple season and they make good comfort foods. Here are some delicious desserts you can make with apples.

  1. Country Apple Dessert

This simple recipe is the perfect quick fix when you’re craving something sweet. It’s also super healthy so you don’t have to worry about packing on extra calories. And of course, it’s one of the most delicious desserts you’ll make with fruits.

Ingredients

  • 2 apples (peeled, cut in chunks)
  • ½ cup seedless grapes
  • ¼ pineapple (peeled, cut in chunks)
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon
  • ½ tablespoon of butter

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 175 degrees
  • Place the apples, pineapples, orange juice, and grapes in a baking dish
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon, chop the butter in medium-sized pieces and scatter on the fruits then cover
  • Bake in the oven for 25 minutes until the apples are soft
  • Serve while hot
  1. Sautéed Apples

This recipe is especially great for breakfast. The sweetness goes great with pancakes, crepes, or waffles. However, you can enjoy it on its own at any time. It also requires minimum cooking skills but the results are super impressive. So, you can wow your guests with this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 5 apples (peeled, sliced thinly)
  • ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
  • ¼ cup of water
  • 5 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of butter

Method

  • Place a large pan over medium heat and add the butter
  • Add the apples and sauté for 1 minute
  • Add water and bring to a boil
  • Stir in the sugar and cinnamon
  • Cover and let it simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the apples are soft
  • Serve with pancakes

Apple pie is one of the most popular desserts of all time. It may look intimidating to prepare but with the right ingredients, you’ll have nothing to worry about. The trick to making the perfect apple pie is the pie crust. You can also buy ready-made pie crusts in the supermarket. However, if you’re a master dough-maker, try to make your own. Here’s a video of how to make a pie crust.

Ingredients

  • 5 apples (peeled, sliced thinly)
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • ½ cup of sugar
  • ½ cup of brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon of ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg

Method

  • Combine the flour, sugar, and spices in a bowl then set aside
  • Toss apples with lemon juice and add the sugar mixture then toss to coat
  • Prepare the pie crust according to instructions and transfer it to a pie plate
  • Trim evenly around the rim and add the filling then chop the butter into medium-sized pieces then scatter over the filling
  • Place the pie cover over the filling then trim and sea it
  • Cut slits on the cover
  • Preheat the oven to 190 degrees
  • Beat an egg white until foamy then brush it over the pie
  • Sprinkle with sugar then cover loosely with foil
  • Bake for 25 minutes then remove the foil and for another 20 minutes until golden brown
  • Let it cool and serve

This recipe is easy like a Sunday morning and perfect for Sunday brunch. Whether you’re hosting or want to make the day feel a little special, you can whip up this sundae really quick then kick back and enjoy your Sunday.

Ingredients

  • 4 apples (peeled, cut into cubes)
  • 2 ginger nut biscuits (crushed)
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 8 scoops of vanilla ice-cream

Method

  • Place a saucepan over medium heat and melt the butter
  • Add apples, cinnamon, and sugar
  • Cook for 10 minutes until the apples are soft
  • Put the mixture in 4 bowls or sundae glasses
  • Place 2 scoops of ice cream in each bowl followed by the crushed biscuits
  • Serve while hot

Ingredients

  • 4 apples (peeled, sliced)
  • 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup of sugar
  • ¼ cup of brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons of cold butter
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoon of baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of milk

Method

  • Combine sugars, flour, and cinnamon in a bowl then add apples and toss to coat
  • Transfer to a greased, square baking dish
  • Chop the butter into medium-sized pieces then scatter on the baking dish
  • Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in another bowl
  • Add small, cold butter cubes and mold them in the flour with your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs
  • Whisk milk and egg in a small bowl then stir into flour mixture just until moistened
  • Pour over the over apple mixture leaving room for the apples to breathe
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown
  • Let it cool then sprinkle with cinnamon and top with vanilla ice-cream
