Dramatic makeup looks are great for a night out or a special occasion since they don’t go unnoticed. We’ve talked about the no-makeup look which had its moment a few years back. However, it’s time for the dramatic makeup to shine. People are getting more comfortable wearing makeup thus dramatic looks are becoming more popular and mainstream. For instance, the bold monochrome eyeshadow was once reserved for runway shows but is now a daily makeup look. Some of these bold looks are not only easy to pull off but also easy to do. Here are some dramatic makeup looks you can try.

  1. Glossy Eyeshadow

Yes, this is a thing and it’s a huge trend in the beauty world. Like many dramatic makeup looks, glossy eyeshadow was created on models then transitioned to a mainstream look. This eccentric eye look is super easy to achieve at home. You can simply use pigmented lip gloss or apply your eyeshadow then top it off with a gloss to achieve the same look.

  1. Two-Tone Lips

Two-tone lipstick adds a touch of sophistication to a rather basic makeup look. The best part is that this dramatic makeup look is one of the simplest to achieve. Choose two matching lip colours and apply the darker one as the base on the outermost edge of your lips. Apply the lighter colour on the inside part and you’re done. There are more techniques to achieve more dramatic looks.

  1. Thick Eyeliner

If you’ve mastered how to do a winged liner perfectly, this look will be a walk in the park. The cat-eye has gradually evolved from a cute, little line to a thick and long one. For this look, the thicker the better. Just like a normal line, start by outlining the shape then fill it in and extend the line to your desired length. If you want to go the extra mile, you can add a thick line on the lower lashes creating a bold, smoky look.

  1. Bold Brows

Just like the eyeliner, brows went from being simple to dramatic. Bold brows have been on trend for a while now but many people still don’t know how to create this look. It takes a few easy steps. Start by brushing your brows straight up then comb them in place. Use a brow gel instead of a pencil as this gives a more realistic look. Start by outlining your brows with the brow gel then fill them in. Finally, conceal any imperfections for a polished finish.

  1. Bejewelled Lids

This dramatic makeup look became popular due to the growing number of music festivals. It creates a delicate yet striking look and it’s quite easy to do. All you need is some jewels of your choice such as rhinestones or pearls, tweezer, and glue. It’s recommended to use lash glue since other glues can be toxic for the skin. Apply the glue on the jewel then place it around the eye. Depending on the look, you can have as many as you want.
