It is back and it is better. The second edition of Afrolect festival happens on the 14th of September 2019 from 3 pm to 10 pm. It will be held at Kanjata 5 featuring artists across different genres including Gravitti, one of Kenya’s leading live Reggae acts and the Crown Prince of Benga Dan Aceda. Hailing from Ghana is master pianist Victor Dey Jr presenting his sound and soul in Nairobi for the very first time. Nairobi Horns Project who will also perform in the festival, make a return collaborating with Sol Generation’s Bensoul for a special set.
After last year’s successful trial of the first Afrolect festival, this year we anticipate live performances, acts from around the globe and genres that are not ordinarily showcased together.
From the looks of it, Afrolect 2 festival might just be the perfect plan, for music aficionados seeking new experiences on a weekend afternoon.
Commenting on this second edition of the Afrolect festival Mackinlay, CEO of HiSynergy Events highlighted that Afrolect is working to build a genre-free festival whose focus is on the quality of live performance.
Last year Afrolect had a variety of pure talent from renown jazz stars including Idd Aziz, Tetu Shani and the Nairobi Horns Project, with DJ Kace supporting it all.
Riding on the same vibe this year’s Afrolect will also display a vibrant array of unique performers giving attention to Kenyan performers who are keen to grow globally recognized music and brands.
Advanced Tickets are available via Mookh each selling at Ksh 1,000. Gates open at 1 pm.
