During the week, I have a lot of activities to participate in; whether it is getting to the gym, going to class, getting to work or the simple lunch dates here and there. In transit, I have realized that I simply cannot keep walking around with the same bag, my needs are different. So I am compiling this list, primarily for me and also for you, because there is nothing wrong with having a couple of bags.

  1. Duffel Bags

Essentially for travel, duffel bags are great for weekend getaways and even longer trips, depending on the size of course. These bags spare you the burden of suitcases while allowing you to look effortlessly stylish and chic. They are also widely available, depending on your price range and very versatile in terms of colour, size and pattern.

  1. Sling Bags

I have found sling bags extremely essential, especially if you’re going for a casual look. Depending on the size, they can fit almost anything, including a pair of flats, a scarf and your phone, wallet and keys. Although most of them do not come with various compartments, they are handy if you don’t want to carry too many items but you also don’t want to struggle with your handbag all day.

They come in various sizes and colours, again, depending on your price range and preference.

  1. Clutch Bags

I realized I needed one of these when I was invited to a dinner party and I didn’t have an appropriate bag.

These are great for very formal occasions; when you need to look your best but still need a few essentials at hand. They are normally small and compact so when packing one, stick to the extreme essentials. Some of them also bulge which may not look attractive so make sure you pack smart.

Invest in one, for a classy and sophisticated look; make sure it’s in an almost neutral colour so it can go with several outfits.

  1. Hand Bags

Ever reliable, ever dependable handbags. Appropriate for work, school and church, handbags have proven to come in handy in almost any situation.

Modern designs have allowed them to look fashionable and very different from what our mothers carried around.

It is important to have at least one handbag that can fit a wide range of items, including a laptop and a change of shoes just so you can go about your day without lugging around too many items (especially if you’re in between meetings)

There is a wide range of handbags depending on your preference, style and budget.

  1. Backpacks

I, personally, have a backpack that I use for my gym clothes and another one I use for class. They are both easy to carry and are more practical for me because of the distance I have to cover between school and home and the gym and home.

It is important to have at least one backpack because they are more practical, easy to carry and can carry a large number of items without looking awful or bulging.

You don’t have to settle for the ones that look like school bags. There are more sporty and fashionably chic ones that will match any of your more casual outfits.
