We have a new skincare brand in town. L’ Oreal, the worlds leading cosmetics company has launched MIXA in Kenya The products are already available in the market for consumers. L’Oreal has been in the beauty industry for over 100 years and thus has experience with a wide variety of products. Their sustainability commitment for 2020 is “Sharing Beauty With All”. Launching these products in Kenya is meant to extend that commitment to Kenyans by providing them with a product that improves their skin comfort.
The MIXA range of products which was created in a French Pharmacy in 1924. The brand products are tested under dermatological control targeting consumers with sensitive skin. This is because MIXA has tailor-made high performing care solutions with a commitment to strict formulation principles.
The products have a strict selection of active ingredients which are 100% paraben free. Parabens are a class of widely used preservatives in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals products. Studies show that they are identified with xenoestrogens which means they mimic oestrogen in the body. Studies have also shown that they can cause breast cancer or reproductive issues eg. early onset puberty or reduced sperm count.
Many women struggle with sensitive skin and often some of these preservatives only make things worse. Kenyan studies have shown that 24% of these women with sensitive skin struggle with itching. 39% have issues with rashes while 28% have issues with irritation. The MIXA skincare products are meant to curb these issues.
The MIXA products are available at all major retailers and pharmacists across the country in 4 variants.
