Shopping: Jumia’s Black Friday Offers For 2017 Will Be 31 Days of Deals
This year’s edition of the Jumia Black Friday sale is set to begin on November 13th. Unlike previous years, this year’s sale will run for a whole entire a month. To ensure that they kept up with their customers’ demands, Jumia conducted an online survey in early September. Here they gave the options of running the sale for either a month, 2 weeks or a 1-day promo. 54% of the respondents said they prefer a month of sales, 16% of the respondents preferred a 2-week sale while the other 10% preferred a 1 day promo.
The Black Friday Sale which is the biggest online shopping event is set to be the biggest one yet since its inception by Jumia in 2015. Last year Jumia recorded 295, 000 sales were made amounting to about 7 million. They had 7 million page visits. The Jumia projections have set it to be 4 times bigger than the Jumia anniversary which was set this June. This popular sale will coincide with the beginning of the Christmas Season thus it will be the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the sale. It is not a secret that Kenyans seek great deals and discounts when they are shopping for the year end items.
According to Sam Chappete, ‘Unlike previous years when the promo lasted a day or two this year’s edition is expected to be more exciting with plans already underway to ensure Jumia customers get the best shopping deals and experience for consecutive weeks,’’

This Black Friday will be an extension of a good run that Jumia has been having this year. In July during its anniversary, its website experienced its biggest month in terms of traffic as it was forced to shut down its website due to overwhelming demand. Their projected sales this coming November will be sure to increase demand for the product. However, Jumia has assured its customers that it is ready to handle any traffic they may experience. The customers will be treated to sales and festivities from November 13th to December 13th with different deals being released every day.
