Tecno Mobile Kenya in partnership with Safaricom on Friday unveiled their flagship device; Tecno Phantom 6 in a colorful event held in Nairobi. The device is set to give consumers great speed, stability and amazing camera experience at a reasonable price.
The ‘High end’ Phantom 6s is Tecno’s flagship smartphone and caters for customers in search of a sleek, sophisticated and cutting edge device. The device is also said to have a fresh brand identity and it comes equipped with features that will guarantee buyers high performance, superb photography through a dual camera set up and a wide-angle selfie camera, and an all-day battery.
Director of Regional Operations in Safaricom Steve Okeyo expressed his excitement in the launch saying that the device will continue unlocking the ability for more customers in the country to experience Safaricom’s growing 4G network. He said that the launch of the device represents both partners commitment to provide affordable 4G devices to enable customers upgrade to 4G hence boost more usage of the technology which allows customers to access a wide variety of services from the network.
Kenya has been on the right receiving end of high-end smartphones in the past few years, putting Kenyan consumers at a pace that is consistent with the rest of the world. Speaking at the launch, Tecno Regional Director East Africa, Livingstone Migwi said that mobile consumers in Kenya and other emerging mobile device markets have not seen anything like the Phantom 6 series. He also added that the device took three years in the making and the global expertise of over five hundred engineers to deliver right on schedule for the Kenyan mobile market.
The phone which comes in two premium colors, ‘Champagne Gold’ and ‘Anthracite Grey’ is loaded with a version of Android 6 Marshmallow that has been optimized to run more smoothly and provide better power saving with the “doze” mode.
