Are you looking for an interesting hangout this Sunday? PAWA 254 will be hosting the PAWA Festival on 20th of December 2015 from 10.00am to 10.00pm along Koinange Street, between Tubman Road and Banda Street in Nairobi’s CBD dubbed ‘Art in the Streets’.  The inaugural festival, will be showcasing socially conscious East African art, music and creativity by innovative young artists. There will also be musical performances, the Governor’s Desk, Photography exhibition, Street Film Screenings, Live Installations, Dialogues and workshops on social accountability issues and select vendors.

While there are a number of festivals in Nairobi, few to none are public, meaning that only a select number of individuals can access them. The festival is an attempt to reach new audiences, mainly emerging artists and art enthusiasts, and provide a public space where diverse art forms can be accessed. The Festival is borne out of the Art in the Streets showcase that took place in 2013 along Tom Mboya Street.
