Yesterday many of us were busy praying to God for him to hold up the rain so that we could go to Koroga. God is good because he heard our prayers. Although there was mud it didn’t rain and I headed over to Koroga. When I got in one of the promotions girls for Safaricom told me I could get free data bundles for just posting one selfie on instagram with the hashtags #KorogaFestival and #InstafunKe. Being the Kenyan that I am (loves free things) I did and got my 2048 MB data. I was like this is a great start. Then we were told that we could get a selfie stick by taking 10 fun photos at the event. And it was a nice selfie stick, the nice long kind. Have you ever seen people trying to take selfies with everybody and everything? Of course I got into the madness. I wanted a selfie stick. I got it and had fun while doing it.
While this was a great way to promote the event and get the hashtag #instafunKe buzzing Safaricom needs to improve on the connections at the event. Inside the main tent usually network is crap. And to post some of the photos I had go go almost up to the gate of the event in order to get a strong enough connection for my pictures to post on Instagram. I understand there are many people but I think maybe the issue is getting enough boosters. I stopped bothering trying to post pictures while at Koroga because of the connection but this time I wanted that selfie stick and I was going to do everything I could to get it. And I did.
The event was of course as spectacular as usual. Check you out at the next Koroga Fest
