The Lumia 430 is a great introduction into the Lumia family if you are looking for an affordable Lumia Phone. Like with all other Lumia phones you need to login in using outlook, live or hotmail account so if you don’t have one then you need to get one before using the phone. The phone retails for only Ksh. 8,850
I think I have used android phones for so long that it was abit of a learning curve learning to use the Lumia 430. I like it because it has great performance for a phone of its class, it does not lag.
The windows operating system has a smooth interface which is easy to use once you get used to it. It is simple and you can get chat with your friends on Skype. The phone also comes with Microsoft services like Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote), Outlook, Skype and OneDrive which is great as you can do a lot with that. The phone will also be upgradeable to windows 10 when it comes out later this year. A great thing about this is that you can also install the same on your computer.
The phone also has I GB RAM, and 8GB of storage which means you can store a lot on your phone including documents and pictures. One of the things I like about it is the battery life. It has a great battery life at 1,500 mAh.
The camera has a large 4 WVGA screen. It has both front and back cameras. The camera at the front has a fixed focus 2MP. The one thing that was abit of a disappointment is the camera. It does not work well in low lighting as it does not have a flash. For those who like a camera for taking selfies and high resolution photos it might not be the best camera for you. The pictures are ok but not great.
The phone runs on Windows Phone 8.1 operating system. It is 3G capable, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and micro USB 2.0.
The phone is lightweight and the back cover is smooth. The back is interchangeable in case you would like a different colour or you like to match your phone to your clothes. I love the design of the phone, it is compact and durable. Mine has an orange back which makes it stand out. I like the fact that you can access up to 30 GB of free cloud storage which means that you can save your important documents.
