OLX had announced it has launched the ‘uza uza ushinde na OLX’ promotion. The 42 day promotion is open to any user selling items on OLX and will see one lucky customer win a grand prize of a car purchased from OLX worth Kshs 2million. The promotion will also offer other users a chance to win daily prizes of an Android tablet worth Kshs 30,000.
In a statement, Peter Ndiangui, OLX Kenya’s country manager said, “Since we launched OLX in Kenya, the number of users has been increasing by 100% year on year. The potential for online transactions in this region has continued to be very promising. To accelerate this, OLX has introduced a promotion that aims to encourage more users to buy and sells items and benefit from instant rewards in the process.”
To participate, users will be required to post the items for sale on www.olx.co.ke Each new item listed will give a user one direct entry to the promotion. Ndiangúi further added that “our aim is to offer consumers a convenient and easy way of earning extra money from items they no longer need or use that will be helpful to someone else. The campaign is also our way of expressing our gratitude to all the users who have supported us and making OLX Kenya a success thus far.”
All users will be contacted via a specific promotion number (0733554488) and they will be required to provide identification to eliminate fraudsters.
