Zambia and Zimbabwe launched a new Uni-Visa on 28 Nov 14 as part of a Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA) initiative. The visa is a common tourist visa, valid only on Zimbabwe and Zambia. There is hope that the 3 other KAZA counties Angola, Namibia and Botswana will join in the future.

The visa is for leisure tourists only. It is available for USD 50 and is valid for 30 days. It is a single entry visa into the region which means that visitors can move freely between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Once out of those countries a new visa will be required.

There is an exception – if one goes to Botswana for a day trip but only if they exit and re-enter on the same day. The KAZA UNI-ViSA will only be available at 8 ports of entry in its early stages (yet included are Harare and Lusaka Airports and all tourist entry points in Victoria Falls and Livingstone.

The visa was implemented on the 28th of November 2014.
