For quite some time now, there have been complaints about millennials. The complaints have been about their attitude towards life and individual responsibility.  A post on Reddit led to millennials flooding the post to defend themselves, giving us a glimpse of how their lives have been.

Here is the link to the thread; https://www.reddit.com/r/Jokes/comments/vxjokt/im_so_sick_of_millennials_and_their_attitudes/

When the person thought the millennials would come to the replies with some humility, one of them came in with an attitude and entitlement as could be seen in this reply.

One was very clear about how they are paying rent on their homestead. Yes, it is home but because one may have needed to have moved out, and one is not yet ready to move out, one then has to contribute financially to the running of the home. Another one had a comeback for the issue of paying rent. Asked to pay rent, this Reddit user said that he was helping around the house with internet-related installations. As one can remember, the millennials are well-versed when it comes o the internet and some are not willing to let that skill go unpaid.

One Reddit user was asked to pay rent and contribute to the running of their home. She came out differently, giving double the requested amount. The reason is that the parents had done more in the bringing up of this individual.Another one went ahead to make the whole thread make sense because what was everything about? This Reddit user stated that millennials are facing tough financial times that they cannot move out and the only thing they can do is just pay rent.

Another Reddit user stated that in their home, there is an even exchange. The parents paid rent, and in exchange, he offered tech support.

Here is another user who had a different experience.

Here is Another Reddit user who was upfront about what his tech support in the house meant.

This Reddit user brought Generation Z into the picture in a way that would scare them.

A reply from another Reddit account reveals how common it is for millennials to pay rent to their parents when they have not moved out.

When one is not willing to go into their pocket to contribute to how the home runs, some parents make it happen without the millennial knowing. Like for the case of this response.

Other parents have a different way of dealing with millennials. The parent of this user opened a saving account and saved all the rent money that her son paid. She later gave him all this money when she wanted to move out for his start.

Here is another parent who saved all the money paid to him for rent to later give his daughter when she was moving out.

When Covid-19 came, the son of this Reddit user decided to go home. What happened as could be seen from the response, were two individuals who wanted to step up and give their best in the situation at hand.

More responses shows how millennials are pushing themselves and still struggling in the process. .

Another one is paying rent at home, and not just rent as usually done on a monthly basis, but weekly.

Generally, millennials are knowledgeable especially when it comes to matters of technology and the internet. They also have an in-depth understanding of their worth. Times are economically tough, and that means that they are experiencing hardships. Hardships that make them appear irresponsible and uncaring. However, their comeback as seen on this Reddit thread makes it very easy for the world to have a glimpse into their world and to understand them. A little laugh at life’s challenges can sometimes make the world a little bit lighter.
