I hadn’t tried any Neutrogena products until I got the Neutrogena Fight & Fade 2-in-1 Toner. This came after hearing high praises about the product but even before that, Neutrogena has always been a trusted skincare brand for many. Its Fight & Fade Toner is described as being effective yet gentle on the skin and that’s exactly what I needed in a toner. Additionally, the product’s packaging claims to clear acne within 8 hours which piqued my curiosity.

Toning is essential in achieving clear, smooth skin. It has numerous benefits such as brightening the skin, balances the skin’s pH, and adds a layer of protection against premature ageing among others. Speaking of which, here are 6 Benefits Of Using A Toner In Your Skincare Routine. However, many toners can cause serious damage in the process due to their harsh ingredients.

The Product

Since my case isn’t severe, I’ve been using the Neutrogena Fight & Fade 2-in-1 Toner product 3 times a week after cleansing my skin. To avoid irritating the skin, I use a cotton ball and press the product on the problem areas. Naturally, it stings since it contains salicylic acid. This is a known ingredient in fighting acne. It cleans the pores deeper and picks up any remaining dirt or oils.

However, unlike other products that contain salicylic acid, this toner is a surprisingly mild product. It doesn’t dry out the skin but instead, leaves it feeling fresh and clean. It’s a great exfoliator if you have sensitive skin that gets irritated after vigorous scrubbing. Despite being mild, it’s very effective and clears acne in a few hours to one day depending on the severity. It works better when you apply the product as soon as the breakout starts though it works on mature pimples as well.

After using Neutrogena Fight & Fade Toner

As mentioned, I don’t struggle with acne though once in a while a pesky pimple pops up on my face. However, I wanted to get rid of the tiny bumps and slightly visible acne marks on my forehead. I started using the Neutrogena Fight & Fade Toner consistently for the past 1 month and I noticed a difference in my skin’s appearance. It’s clearer and I hardly get any random breakouts. Additionally, the regular use helped lighten the acne marks on my forehead leaving my face with almost no marks.

How To Avoid Breakouts And Acne From Wearing A Face Mask

The Package

The Neutrogena Fight & Fade 2-in-1 Toner comes in a clear, plastic, travel-friendly bottle with bright orange labels. It clearly states its two main functions on the label which is, fights breakouts and fades the look of post-acne marks. At the back, it details how to use the product, ingredients, and warnings such as keeping away from children.

The Cost

Though most toners are quite pricey, this product costs a bit more compared to other toners in the market. This might be an indication of its quality as it’s the same price as The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toning Solution which is also praised as being an effective product. You can get the Neutrogena Fight & Fade 2-in-1 Toner from Jumia at Ksh 2,400.
