Once you have the Innisfree Jeju Orchid Eye Cream you do not have to wonder why it is a cult favourite and a best seller for the Innisfree brand. Aside from its anti-ageing benefits, it is also the perfect choice for someone with dark circles and dull-looking skin around the eyes.

If you do not believe in eye creams it is time you do. After all, it is never too early to start using an eye cream since the skin around your eyes is thinner than around the entire face. Hence why it tends to age faster.

Manufacturer’s claim

The Innisfree Jeju Orchid Eye Cream is an early action, multi-tasking eye cream that strengthens, firms, smoothens, nourishes and brightens the look of the delicate skin around the eyes. It contains orchid elixir 2.0 which is an antioxidant from Jeju orchids that keeps the skin around your eyes looking healthier and younger.

Find out how to get rid of dark circles under the eyes.

My experience

I remember when I bought this product my main concern was to get rid of the fine lines around my eyes – which tend to appear whenever I smile. If you smile with your eyes, welcome to the hazards of this gift. What I noticed after using this eye cream is that the lines started to fade and the skin looked plumper and more elastic instead of dry- which is what contributed to the lines in the first place.

The results were not immediate. But the product worked in such a way that now if I smile to reveal the fine lines I’m convinced I had none in the first place.

Besides the skin around the eyes this product can also be used on the forehead or to improve elasticity on your laugh lines. Here more on how to reduce laugh lines.

How to use

Use your ring fingertips to tap three dots of the product on the skin around both eyes. Tap on the product until the eye cream is absorbed. The product shouldn’t be applied on the eyelids or very close to the eyes.

It absorbs very fast without leaving any white residue and blends well with other products such as sunscreen, foundation, lotion or any other moisturiser.

Since Korean products work effectively by following a specific order this product is applied after an essence, emulsion or lotion – but before a thick moisturiser such as a night cream or any other deep cream.

Packaging

The Innisfree Jeju Orchid Eye Cream comes in a 30ml purple container. But what I liked most is how it is filled to the brim.

Scent

I’m big on skincare products that have subtle or no scents at all like the Cosrx snail mucin essence. The Innisfree Jeju Orchid Eye cream has a hint of orchid and other natural scents, although the overall scent remains subtle. It is also not irritating to the eyes, but this may depend on the user.

Texture

It is a white thick cream that absorbs very fast on the skin with the help of a few taps.

Innisfree Jeju Orchid Eye cream is the best choice for fine wrinkles, laugh lines and dark circles under the eyes.

Ingredients

The main active ingredient in the Innisfree Jeju Orchid Extract is the concentrated orchid elixir extract. However, other functional ingredients work together to yield the anti-ageing, brightening, moisturising and firming benefits it has on the skin around the eyes.

Innisfree Jeju Orchid eye cream has anti-ageing and brightening benefits for under-eye skin.

Price and availability

The Innisfree Jeju Orchid Eye Cream costs $14.92 almost Ksh 1600 on eBay but you can get in on Kbeauty here in Kenya.

Verdict

Moisturising power: 5 out of 5

Packaging: 4 out of 5

Anti-ageing properties: 4 out of 5

Scent: 5 out of 5

Cost: it depends. For the price I bought it, (Ksh 1500) I would say it’s fair considering this is a 30ml eye cream and you only need 5 dots at most, to get the job done. In light of this, on average, this eye cream could last you close to two years with fair use. Although you should pay attention to the expiration date.

Additional tip

A secret to increasing the shelf life of products in open jars is to avoid using them with contaminated hands or leaving them exposed. Store your eye cream in a cool place away from heat or direct sunlight.

Would I recommend it? Definitely. Innisfree Jeju Orchid Eye Cream is suitable for anyone from 20 years to 35 years old and above. I also used The Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum which is really good so check out the review.
