Bikini season is upon which means it’s time to get your beach body ready and perfect. Though we’re all about body positivity, there’s nothing wrong with wanting a trim tummy or firm glutes. It’s also not too late to look like a snack in a swimsuit or become body goals at that New Year’s party down at the beach.

All you need for the next few weeks is a little discipline and commitment to the cause. from cutting on certain foods to workout tips, here are tips on getting a beach body.

  1. Cut On The Carbs

We all know the science that excess energy turns to fat. When your body stops relying on carbs for energy, it will start burning fat. Therefore, you should avoid foods rich in carbohydrates if you’re looking for that goddess-like figure. Instead, add more lean proteins like fish and chicken to your diet as they build muscle. You should also eat 5 to 6 meals a day to avoid the temptation of eating empty calories when you’re hungry.

  1. Tea Away The Bloating

Bloating can be a serious impediment on your beach body journey. Luckily, there’s a simple relief to this problem. No, I don’t mean drinking those slimming teas every Instagram model tries to sell. Try the natural way by grating some ginger into hot water and lemon. If you’re not a fan of teas, drinking lots of water also helps reduce bloating. Make sure to avoid foods that cause bloating such as beans, carbonated drinks and dairy products. You can also add peppermint or chamomile to your tea as they help soothe a bloated stomach.

  1. Do More Climbing

Climbing ensures every major muscle works together. It also helps burn more calories due to the force. Therefore, it’s both an effective workout and a great way to get a beach body. You can use the stairs at your workplace or apartment to your advantage, go on hikes or use gym equipment. Sprint for 20 seconds at your highest intensity; rest for 10 seconds. Repeat for eight minutes.

  1. Fast-Track Your Cardio

If you’re trying to get a beach body within a short time, spending hours in the gym might be counterproductive. Shorter, high-intensity workouts are more effective than longer ones. Besides, cardio is one of the best ways to burn calories. Some effective cardio workouts include jumping jacks, running and jump rope. This should take about 30 minutes with a cardio machine or outdoor workout routine.

  1. Shop For The Right Swimsuit

Of course, it’s not all about dieting and exercise. You also need to know how to get the right swimsuit for your body type. For plus size girls, swimsuits with fringes help cover all those problem areas. Additionally, if you’re trying to create the illusion of curves, look for swimsuits that are padded and made of thick material. Swimsuits with patterns and bold colours compliment hourglass figures.
