Safaricom is the title sponsor of the 5th edition of the Kenyan Blog Awards.  This is the fourth time Safaricom is working with BAKE in supporting the awards as they extended their sponsorship in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

KBA winner Silvia Njoki

Kennedy Kachwanya, the BAKE chairman had this to say about the sponsorship, “It is great to have Safaricom come on board as this year’s title sponsors. Their support over the years has been unwavering and it is even more significant since this is an organization that understands and appreciates the important role played by content creators and the online space in the advancement of our community.”

This year’s awards kicked off with the launch of the submission phase on 8th January 2016.  Kenyans online then submitted their favorite bloggers for consideration and possible nomination. This phase closed on 10th February after which a group of 5 judges went through the submitted blogs and picked the best 5 in the 19 categories. This year’s judges were Mikul Shah, Ahmed Salim, Muthoni Maingi and TerryAnne Chebet.

The voting phase will be drawing to a close on 1st May. The Kenyan Blog Awards will culminate on the 7th May with the winners being crowned at a gala event which will be held at the Radisson Blu Hotel . Other sponsors for the awards are EatOut Kenya, Xpose, Samsung and Coca Cola.

If you would like to attend and see your who cinches the coveted BAKE Awards, you can purchase tickets to the event here.
