This morning Samsung launched their latest devices the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge at the Sankara Hotel. The two devices will be available all over Kenya at all Samsung brand stops, authorized dealer shops as well as Safaricom customer care shops in 32 GB and 64 GB versions. They will be available in white, gold and black sapphire colours but you can expect the Topaz Blue and Emerald Green coloured devices from June. Both phones come with a free phone cover and Safaricom data of 1.5 GB.

The cameras are to selfie for. The clarity in the pictures for both rear and front cameras is amazing. The F1.9 lenses and high resolution sensors on both front (5MP) and rear (16MP) cameras create superior image pictures even in poor lighting conditions. There is also a quick launch feature that allows users to get access to the camera in just 0.7 seconds by double clicking the home key button.

The phones have super charging capabilities providing about 4 hours of usage after only 10 minutes of charging. They also can be charged wirelessly and offer very fast wireless charging with embedded technology.

The difference between the two devices is that the S6 has a double curved display. The camera is a dream come true for both amateur and professional photographers as it performs very well in all light conditions. It also has a fingerprint scanner that allows you to unlock the device from any direction as long you place your finger on the home button.

Free covers for the two phones will be given away for free while stocks last. Other accessories like the wireless charging pad and the very cute power banks will on sale and are available immediately.

If you are interested in checking out the devices Samsung will be having a consumer launch at Galleria Mall on Saturday where people can check out the device.

Samsung S6 enthusiasts have already ordered around 500 phones which will be sent out tomorrow. That number could go up because pre-orders were closing today and customers who had pre-ordered were getting a wireless charging pad and free case as add ons.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge 32 GB will be retailing at Ksh 77,999. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge 64 GB will be going for Ksh 89,999. The Samsung Galaxy S6 32 GB will be selling at Ksh 69,999 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 – 64 GB will be going for Ksh 81,999.

The phone is lightweight (138g /132g edge) and thin (6.8 mm/7.0mm edge). It has a higher performance and enhanced memory speed with lower power consumption. It also has a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screen which offers users pixel density of 577pp.
