Last night at the Nairobi Arboretum the Groove Awards nominees are unveiled. There were surprises as new regional categories were introduced. I loved how they did the whole event. The theme tune stuck in my head and I felt like dancing to the song. The theme of this year’s awards is “Let Your Light Shine.”
I rarely watch tv or listen to radio nowadays so I didn’t know most of the nominees. After watching some of the teasers of the videos last night I realize I should actually watch more christian shows on TV. I usually just use it as background music when doing something else.

PS. After attending a couple of Christian events including the Groove Awards Nomination event I have to say I am very disappointed with their time keeping. The event was to start at 6 pm and it started at almost 8. If Christians are trying to stand out and let their light shine one of the ways of doing this is to start events at the right time. One of the gifts God has given us is time and using time wisely is stewardship of the gift God has given us.
When an event starts late and it is on a weekday it inconveniences many who are working the next day. Also it inconveniences those who do not have their own means of transport as I saw some people walking after the event. Considering where the arboretum is and somebody having to find their own way to town this is an issue that should be considered. Being our brother’s keeper means that we also need to think about their security when holding events. So please start your events on time.
