South Africa is a beautiful place to visit and it has a lot to offer. There is wine tasting in Cape Town, rugby tournaments, shopping festivals, sunset cruises, bungee jumping, Jazz Festivals, quad biking, and international casinos. Whether you are looking for soft adventures like open buses, and sunset cruises or hard core adventures like shark cage diving, bungee jumping or surfing there is something to suit your tastes and pockets.

Did you know that you can get accommodation there for a fraction of the cost you would pay in Kenya?

There is so much to do in South Africa that you could stay for days and still find new things to do while on holiday. The most popular destinations in South Africa are Sun City, Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban.

Sun City is perfect for honeymooners, it is a very romantic destination. It also is great for families and adventure seekers. Some of the interesting places include Kwena Gardens Crocodile Sanctuary, the Cultural Village, Butterfly World, and the Outdoor Adventure Center. Some of the activities include the incredible Zip slide, horse riding, quad biking and archery, elephant interactions/rides, segway safaris where people learn to ride a segway, safaris and golf activities. There are also children’s activities at Sun City’s Water World and the Valley of the Waves.

Long ago Cape Town was thought to be a meeting place of the oceans which turned out not to be true. It has two great features, the Table Mountains, which is the South most top of Africa, and the view of Robbin Island which is where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated. There is so much to see and do in Cape Town. Cape town is famous for its beaches, the Cape Winelands (take a tour) and the jazz festivals including the Cape Town International Jazz Festival and the Jazzathon. You can also catch a cable car up table mountain, go shark cage diving, eat gourmet food, take tours of Robben Island and District Six Museum, eat different African cuisines, walk the famous museum mile, and party on the long street.

Durban has one season – summer. It is a major centre of tourism because of its warm subtropical climate and great beaches. Durban has the busiest port in Africa. The attractions in Durban include the Sea World Aquarium, the Moses Madhida Stadium (where Top Gear South Africa will be happening), Ushaka Marine World, Umhlanga Rocks, the Durban Botanical Gardens, the Golden Mile which is good for strolling or biking, golf courses, and then you can also walk around the living fossils at the Botanical Gardens.

Johannesburg is soaked in history. There are so many historical sites to visit. There are Mandela tours, Mahatma Gandhi tours, tours to the Apartheid museum, Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory, Mandela House Museum, and the Chancellor’s house among other interesting tours.

Johannesburg is a great city for shopping, history, fine dining, good food – you can even find Kenyan dishes. There are many activities that you can take part in like bungee jumping or golf, and you can even have a day of fun at Gold reef city which is a large amusement park. It is located in an old gold mine. The staff dress in costumes of the 1880s and there is a museum dedicated to gold mining.

Johannesburg is known for fashion and shopping. You can shop until you drop in Sandton City. There is also entertainment, vibrant nightlife, culinary delights and sports. Johannesburg has the biggest human-made forest in the world. You can book a tour to Soweto, the Lion Park, or go to the Montecasino which is home to cinemas, a casino and the largest theatre in Africa.
