“Brikicho!” One kid would shout from one corner as other kids responded in unison “Banture!”. This was a hide and seek game kids in the 80’s and 90’s loved to play.

Maziwa Nyayo was the thing to look forward to every Friday if you were in a government run school in the 90’s.

In the 60’s and 70’s belly bottoms and platform shoes were the in thing as Daudi Kabaka’s music sofly played from VOK (Voice of Kenya) AM station.

Uhuru park was the hottest hangout, “No one but you”,the best Mexican soap to watch on your Greatwall TV, Chapati’s and Mbuzi the dish to eat over Christmas, Fanta Moto na Mkate Nusu a delicacy at Music festivals and Michael Jackson the next best thing to sliced bread.

These are just but some of the great, nostalgic memories we treasure about being Kenyan.

Creatives Garage invites you to Sondeka Fest. Sondeka which means “Create” is a festival taking you back to the past whilst bringing the largest gathering of Creatives this side of the Sahara to perform and exhibit their skills.

We have an amazing line-up of events scheduled to take place during Sondeka Fest. We will have Teams of Creatives that will Sondeka (Create) art pieces during the three days of the festival that will then be auctioned. The proceeds will go into a ten week art programme in 3 children’s Homes.

The events under the festival include:

We have Kids activities as well running during the event. We will have bouncing castles and art classes for kids from ages 2 to 12 years old.

There will be a Sondeka Walk-way Exhibition on old treasures that we have been collecting over the past months to showcase at Sondeka Fest.

This is one jam-packed event that you do not want to miss. So, bring a friend and lets relive the good stuff that make us proud to be Kenyans.
