Thank you for the invitation
But I am not coming for your wedding
I don’t approve of your marriage
So why should I be there at the start of it?
If I accept the invitation
I will be quick to raise my hand
When it’s asked “Is there anyone who has a reason
Why these two shouldn’t be joined in Holy Matrimony?”
I will raise my hand in objection
Because I love you
I love you like a man loves a woman
My love for you has no contention
I am sorry, you have known me just as a friend
But I want more, I can give you more
I see you as the woman for me
So tell me what will it be?
I am not here to build a case against the man you have
And the campaign for the man I am
I am just here to build my case
Even though he built his before me
I want to confess to you my feelings
I want to tell you before you move further with him
Before it gets impossible for you to turn back
Before you make him your husband
It’s up to you, it’s your heart to give
Two paths stand before you, if you reject me
Let it be you rejected knowing I want you
But not because I wasn’t man enough to tell you I love you.
