We are so used to having dogs as our pets, tending to their needs, and having them into our lives. But most of us are unaware that they are part of the Canis familiaris species. They come from a wiped-out type of wolf. Some of the different breeds of dogs are still skilled to survive alone and live in the wild. Nowadays, they are adopted and taken care of by a family or individual who wants to become a pet owner. They are very tame and used to this type of living.

Before people used to live in dreadful weather conditions, and they weren’t so advanced as we are now. They needed dogs so they can cross different types of weather, survive and work through those conditions. Dogs were mixed and generated to breed such powerful forces so they can benefit humans. Now people combine different breeds so they can create canines with desirable features. It helps enhance certain qualities and change others that are not favorable.

Generating qualities in canines have improved the breeding process overall. It has produced breeds that have desirable traits and are highly adopted among different countries and families. People aren’t so dependent on them anymore, but we still put our faith in them to help us out. They help the official authorities like the police, fire department, and even the justice system. They do this by searching for people who disappeared, finding hidden drugs, helping witnesses testify against their attackers, and many other ways.

They also, help the regular person a lot. They offer companionship and protection against potential attackers. They are known to be trained so they can help blind people in their daily activities. They help people with other disabilities, and they are used to calm down kids in hospitals.

The Maltese is one of the various sorts of canines in the world. Research shows that more than 200 exist currently. They can vary in proportions, personality, friendliness, skin fur, color, and other qualities. They can be sorted with no hair, small or bigger in size, extend emotional support, and cause no allergies to people.  Check this out https://www.countryliving.com/uk/wildlife/dog-breeds/a35254581/longest-living-dog-breeds/.

Maltese dog general characteristics

The Maltese are known as the royal dog. For generations, they have been a part of the high society, under different names. They are especially favored by the female population throughout history. Their breed is researched to have started their line in Malta. They came in many colors, but now their color is almost always white. Their most desirable quality is that they don’t cause any allergies to people. This makes them a popular and superior pick as a pet.  For more information click here.

Their personality screams a small dog with a huge personality. They are found to be refined and well-bred, making them superior to other breeds. They are smart, sensible, loyal, and so loving. Their whole world revolves around their guardians. They are absolutely dedicated and committed to them, always looking for their attention and affections. They are well-behaved dogs when appropriately trained, making them social butterflies.

They are known to experience separation anxiety and jealousy over their guardians. This makes them hate other dogs and even become jealous of toddlers. If you are looking to adopt them, you need to make sure they are properly trained. This is required, especially if you have small children. You don’t want them hurting each other.

Maltese dogs are so tiny, but they overcome the smallness issue with their personality. This makes them injury-prone, so it’s advised to be careful around them. They weigh several kilos, and their average life span is more than 14 years. They are known to love people and be lively. They don’t require constant exercise like it’s stated on Holistapet dog, but you should take them for daily walks.

They love the outdoors and socializing. If you use positive rewarding methods, they are the perfect dog to take on social events. Just make sure you don’t leave them alone for long periods because they can bark a lot and become angry. They are perfect for smaller apartments and keeping them indoors, unlike other breeds who require a bigger space.

Maltese physical wellbeing

No breed is perfect and without faults. Their overall physical health is good. They require little exercise to reach their exhaustion level. They don’t experience disorders, overall they are healthy and happy dogs. This should excite any pet owner. The Maltese are generally a dog with desirable qualities. They live long, they are small, and require very little training. Daily walks will prolong their life, making you the star pet owner.

There can be a danger of obesity because they don’t require much exercise. This can worsen their joint and digestive system. This can cause heart and other problems in the long term. They are prone to infections, especially eye infections, because of tearing and staining around their eyes. Like other canines, Maltese possess genetic predispositions to eye problems. Some of them, if not treated properly, can cause blindness.

They are susceptible to heart diseases mainly because being so petite leads to smaller vessels for blood transfer. This can also be developed if you are overeating your Maltese. They are a type of family canine that doesn’t walk around much, meaning a proper diet routine needs to be implemented. They can also be prone to skin conditions because of their white fur.

All of these conditions are treatable with regular checkups to the veterinarian. They will ensure the health of your Maltese is regulated and watched.
