For those who love the Nokia brand with an android experience, expect more as Nokia launches the latest version of Android innovations in the Kenyan market. The Nokia 2.2 is the first of the 2 series Nokia smartphone, delivering a sophisticated AI technology coupled with specs that make the user experience enjoyable all at an affordable price.

In the box, you find the Nokia 2.2, a removable battery, a charger a micro USB and a manual for basic instructions.

Display

The Nokia 2.2 is a small and comfortable smartphone custom made for someone who prefers single-handed use. It displays 5.71 inches packing 79% screen estate to body ratio. The edge-to-edge display with a modern discreet selfie-notch maximizes screen surface while maintaining a pocketable form factor.

Body

The Nokia 2.2 is a light phone weighing 153g in dimensions of 146 x 70.6 x 9.3 mm (5.75 x 2.78 x 0.37 inches). The covers use nano-texture coating technology granting you a  premium glossy look in a range of vibrant colours.

The Nokia Xpress-on covers can be easily interchanged and will be available in Pink Sand, Ice Blue and Forest Green**.

Software

The Nokia 2.2 runs on the latest operating system – Android pie- which can be upgraded to Android Q. This makes it the first phone in the android market that is Android Q ready. By this fact, if you own a Nokia 2.2 expect to receive 2 years of OS upgrades and 3 years of monthly security updates helping you stay in sync with the latest in android innovations. The device is also powered by the quad-core MediaTek A22 CPU chipset, which is designed to deliver battery optimization making your charge last up to an entire day.

Memory

The Nokia 2.2 comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB RAM expandable up to 400GB. Nokia 2.2 has no additional bloatware, skins or UI changes and hidden processes which consume your battery life or fill up your storage.

Camera

Nokia has a history of making good camera smartphones (Nokia 9 Pureview says it all) and the Nokia 2.2 is no different. Housing a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie/front camera, the Nokia 2.2 prides in a sophisticated AI-powered lowlight imaging. This gives you the advantage of taking detailed photos even in low light conditions.

The camera can snap multiple images simultaneously creating a single image with more light, greater detail and less noise.

Google assistant

Nokia 2.2 has 3 buttons; the volume keys as one button, the power button and the google assistant button. The google assistant button is placed on the left side of the device granting you quick access to google assistant. This feature enables you to voice commands easily at the push of a button.

Other features

The device doesn’t come with a fingerprint scanner. However, you get cool features like face unlock and google lens. Google lens helps you search what you see. How it works; When you see an item/product you like simply point the camera lens at it to know how you can get it. To discover new music point the lens at an album.

Features like spices and App actions anticipate your next move delivering app integration and shortcuts that help you accomplish tasks faster and easier.

Price

The device will be available in both Safaricom and open channel markets at a price range of Ksh 10,200. The palm-sized handset is available in Tungsten black.
