During the Berlin Marathon held on 1st October 2022, net citizens were stunned by a video of the two-time Olympic winner, Kenya’s Eliud Kipchoge’s bottle man. The timing and dedication of bottle Clause got me into searching for more interesting jobs we never knew existed, but first, let us start with bottle guy.

Bottle Claus

Before we saw the video of Bottle Claus, most of us did not know that there is a specific bottle person for our favourite athletes.

The dedication, commitment, timing, and planning of Eliud Kipchoge’s dedicated bottle man have caught everyone’s attention on social media. The netizens noticed that Eliud Kipchoge would only take water from one “mzungu” guy whenever he is in a race. During his recent race, the bottle man cycled and stopped at 13 different points to give Eliud a bottle of water. His efforts were termed epic by the netizens.

You have to keep eye contact after I hand him the bottle, you have to run to your bike and sprint to the next water station 5 km away,” announced the bottle man. The guy is known as Henning Schulke alias Bottle Claus. Eliud Kipchoge said that he remembered the guy handing him water during his race and calling him “his hero.”

“He is still my hero up to now,” said Eliud. The bottle man, later on, got a call from Eliud’s management team asking him to meet Eliud. On arrival Eliud, he met Eliud, the athlete who had written: “Dear Claus without you I would not have managed to run this world record.” Eliud thanked him for always being there.

One Toby, @tobydoyhowell posted a video that went viral on Twitter

Julius Mwangi’s axe-shaving skills

Late last year the internet went into an uproar after a video of a barber in Kiambu shaving his clients with an axe went viral.  Surprisingly, his work was immaculate. He said the motivation behind using the axe to shave was his clients came wanting to be unique and to attract more customers. He shared h found using an axe more advantageous compared to using a machine. “The axe gives a smoother shave which is more suitable for the Jordan style. Also, when there is a blackout, I continue with my work as usual,” he said. The barber who is known as Julius Mwangi says the use of an axe has attracted more clients to his barbershop, he charges 500 Kenyan Shillings per shave and says the price is likely to go high due to demand. Different people had different reactions to his work, some were scared and said they would not trust him using an axe on them while others were curious and some could not wait for their turn to be shaved.

NTV went ahead and shared one of Julius Mwangi’s videos on Twitter
