Trying to find a balance between work and being a mum can be described as an uphill battle. They’re both very demanding which leaves many women torn in between the two. However, it’s possible to have a full-time career and still be a present parent. With a good work-life balance, you can be able to juggle your mummy duties and still handle your business at work. Here are some work-life balance tips for mums.

  1. Use Your Lunch Breaks

If it seems like you can’t find time to clear some things on your schedule, you can take advantage of your lunch break at work. You can use this time to handle some of your parenting duties. It’s an ideal time to run some quick errands, read school reports, and fill your calendar. These are light activities that you can do as you still enjoy your lunch. It’s also a great time to call your kids and catch up on their lives. This can be a good stress reliever.

  1. Prepare For The Mornings

Mornings are usually the craziest time at home. From preparing your kids for school, making breakfast, and getting ready for work, things can get hectic. You can reduce the amount of work you need to do in the morning by preparing the night before. Try to arrange your children’s uniforms, pack their bags and go over anything they need the night before. This makes things less chaotic in the morning making you more relaxed when you get to work.

  1. Give Yourself Time To Work

While some women focus all their attention on their work, others find it hard to shift the focus from home to work. Mum guilt might be real but it’s important to give yourself some time to work. Additionally, with a good work-life balance, you won’t have to feel like you’re missing out on your child’s life. You’ll be able to get more things done which means that you get to spend more quality time with your family at home. 7 Ways To Keep Your Business Separate From Your Personal Life

  1. Organize Your Home

The house can get messy really quickly especially when you have young children around. Having an organized home reduces the amount of time you spend doing chores giving you more time to get other things done. You can dedicate some time during the weekend to get rid of clutter, prep meals, and clean the house. Additionally, make sure everything has a dedicated space. You can create a reading/playing nook for your kids. Tips To Create A More Organized Home

  1. Use Technology

Mothers are human too and they get overwhelmed. It’s easy to forget some things when you have a lot on your plate. To avoid the stress of keeping track of everything, you can use the help of technology. There are apps to make your working mum’s life easier. From shopping for groceries online to setting reminders of important events, technology is a busy mum’s best friend. 7 Apps That Every Entrepreneur Needs

  1. Ask About Flex Time

Many employers are adopting flexible work schedules to accommodate different preferences. You can ask whether they offer flex time at your workplace. This can allow you to have a better work schedule that coordinates with your home life. You can work overtime or start work early and get off earlier than normal then spend the rest of the day with your family.

  1. Ask For Help

You don’t have to do everything in the house. Involve the whole family in doing chores to make it easier to finish them. Additionally, this can be a great way to spend some quality family time. Give your children chores that they can handle and ask your spouse to help. For instance, if you have a toddler, you can take turns getting up for the late-night feedings. You can also recruit outside services to help with your household chores. Parenting: 5 Tips To Keep In Mind When Recruiting A Nanny
