Well kept nails play an essential role in boosting your general appearance. However, many people experience stained nails due to a number of factors such as nail polish, henna, and food colouring. This can be a big problem especially if you want to rock your natural nails since they can make your hands look awful and unkempt. However, there are simple ways you can make your nails look bright again. Here are some home remedies to whiten stained nails.

  1. Lemon Juice And Milk Mixture

This mixture not only brightens your nails but also makes them stronger. Lemon is one of the most effective natural bleaching agents. On the other hand, milk provides calcium to keep your nails strong and while giving them a white coat.

Method

Mix a few tablespoons of milk and fresh lemon juice in a bowl. Dip your nails in it for 5 minutes then leave them to dry. Rinse with warm water.

  1. Orange Peel

Next time you eat an orange, don’t throw away the peels immediately. Better yet, you can use your nails to peel an orange. 1. Nail Buff

It may be time to invest in a nail set if you want to have good-looking nails. Nails buff, especially, is a must-have since it acts as an exfoliant for your nails. This can also help in brightening their appearance. Therefore, before putting your nails through rigorous whitening processes, try buffing them.

Method

hold a buffing nail file parallel to your nail and work in x patterns over your nail. Be careful not to apply too much pressure and stick to 6 strokes per nail. Rinse your nails with warm water once you’re done.

  1. White Vinegar

Vinegar is also an effective cleaning agent that you can use to whiten stained nails. Thanks to its mildly acidic properties, it can remove stains without damaging your nails. Additionally, it’s readily available in most homes and in supermarkets. 5 Ways You Can Use Vinegar To Clean Around The House

Method

Pour a cup of warm water into a bowl and add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar. Soak your nails in the solution for 10 minutes then rinse with warm water and dry them.

  1. Tea Tree Oil
