Weekends can be a drag if you have nothing to do. There’s only so many movies you can watch until you need some other source of entertainment and things like dining out or attending events cost a lot of money. If you’re looking to make the most out of your weekend fun-wise, try these inexpensive things to do during the weekends.

  1. Invite Your Friends Over

Hanging out with friends over the weekend is one of the best ways to kill time. You’re guaranteed to have fun with some company around. Additionally, most people are usually willing to hang out during weekends. Ask your friends to come over and you can brainstorm things to do. For instance, you can have a cook-off, play board games, drink wine and chat.

  1. Organize A Community Cleanup

Over the weekends, you can donate that extra time to serving your community. Community cleanups aren’t that hard to organize and you can seek help from the local church or even the community at large. Get a group of about 15-20 people and go around the community collecting plastics, sweeping dust off the pavements and watering the greenery.

  1. Clean Out Your Closet

If you’re a shopaholic, your closet must be full of clothes that you hardly wear. Cleaning out your closet is both a way to pass time during the weekends and stay organized. Sort them out and put them in a bag which you can donate to an orphanage or your upcountry cousins. This will also help you let go of the unnecessary baggage and provide room for more important things. Check out 7 Tips For Revamping Your Wardrobe

  1. Do Some Gardening

Gardening is a great way to keep busy during the weekends. It’s also a long-term activity since gardening requires a lot of your attention. Prepare adequately before you begin planting your garden for the best results. Eventually, you’ll end up with a beautiful garden which will be worth spending weekends tending to. 1. Go Thrift Shopping

Nothing puts you in a good mood like some retail therapy. However, shopping for new clothes is quite expensive. Try going to the thrift stores where you’ll find good quality clothes at affordable prices. Additionally, vintage clothes are a huge fashion trend and you might end up looking stylish in them. 15 things to remember when buying second hand (mitumba) clothes

  1. Visit Your Grandparents Or Other Family Members

You other family members also need company. Take some time during the weekends to visit them especially your grandparents as they’re old and might need all the help they can get. However, if your grandparents live far away, try visiting other family members and keeping in touch with them.

  1. Check Out Art Galleries

This is another fun and inexpensive activity that you can do over the weekends. Art galleries are quite popular as they cater to a certain lifestyle without being exorbitantly priced. You can visit one if you haven’t to see whether it’s something you’d be interested in. See City Guide: 5 Art Galleries To Visit In Nairobi
