No one likes being sick. The hustle and bustle of going to the hospital, waiting in long queues and spending thousands of shillings in trying to see a doctor is one of the many reasons why most Kenyans opt to self-medicate.  This is a cheaper but more dangerous option has become wildly popular. However, most of the times we end up taking the right medicine for the wrong reason. This doesn’t have to happen anymore with the recently launched Livia App.

The Livia app aims to revolutionize the world of medicine by using two of Kenya’s greatest resources: mobile payment and the growing convenience of using app technology by offering its customers the confidence of purchasing quality medicine in a reliable, secure and convenient way with the added advantage of delivering them right to their doorstep.

The Livia App will also be largely beneficial in accessing pharmaceutical products that are essential to invalids, patients with chronic illnesses and who require constant & long-term medication

How it works

TheLivia app acts as a link between clients and pharmacies so that clients can order medicine/products from the comfort of their homes. The medicines are then delivered and the client can conveniently pay either via M-Pesa or cash.

The Livia app also beats the worry of having to hop from pharmacy to pharmacy in order to get the medicine you’ve been prescribed for. At one point I had to drive all the way to the CBD to get medicine which couldn’t be found in any of the pharmacies in our neighborhood. The Livia App beats this inconvenience with the wide selection of quality medicine from the pharmacies around you and also gives you the best prices of the drugs you ordered.

Another key benefit of Livia App is the fact that they deliver! You don’t have to worry about getting out of bed or out of the house to go see a doctor or get your prescription filled with Livia. What they do is they get the closest pharmacy near you, they check all criteria of availability, affordability and quality and the medicines will be delivered right to your doorstep!

Aside from the fact that the Livia app also allows you to order supplements, over the counter drugs, personal and hygiene products from a Pharmacy or chemist, they also offer real-time consultation with a pharmacist. This is a very bold step in beating the numerous cases of deaths and progressed diseases due to people self-medicating themselves. With this, you don’t have to guess which medicine is the best for you or worse still, Google your symptoms. The Livia App allows you to consult with a professional pharmacist giving you the peace of mind you deserve as you recover.

How to register

  1. Download the Livia app on Google Play store

2.Fill in your details.

3. Make your order (The app generates the best prices for the products you ordered).

4. Here, you have the option of taking a picture of your prescription and upload it to the app

  • Or selecting the name of the products you want

  1. Pay via Mpesa
  2. Receive a call from the chemist
  3. Choose either to have your products collected or delivered at a certain delivery price range according to your location
  4. Click ‘Delivered’ on the app after you have received your order.

Currently, the Livia App is up and running in Mombasa but will be available nationwide from next month. Take the step of availability, convenience and quality for  you and your loved ones healthcare.  Download the Livia app today.
