Elani makes a grand comeback
Popular Kenyan Afropop music group, Elani, makes a grand comeback with a brand new track featuring the ‘Valu Valu’ Ugandan superstar Joseph Mayanja popularly known as Jose Chameleone titled ‘My Darling’.
After being silent for almost a year, the group that comprises of Bryan Chweya, Maureen Kunga and Wambui Ngugi, released the new track earlier this week that comes after their last release in 2014. This comes after the group recently disclosed of the mishaps between them and the music governing body MCSK concerning their royalties for 2015; but despite the difficult times the trio had, they decided to make a surprise comeback just in time for Valentine’s Day!
With a vivacious funky beat, the song, titled My Darling, has a love theme and has been released to coincide with the month of love. It tells a beautiful love story of the ups and downs that they face in a relationship. It also brings out the challenges and misunderstandings that couples in a relationship face and the end result that is the joy and happiness that comes from overcoming these difficulties.
The song also brings out the difficult decisions that couples have to sometimes make in order to keep each other happy and to also keep their love alive and strong enough to endure the challenges that they face.
The talented trio that scooped the Best African Pop Song award in the 2014 All Africa Music Awards held in Nigeria have also decided to do things a little differently this time; a new way for their loyal listeners to access their music in an affordable and accessible way. For just Kshs 30, you can now download their new song to your phone by dialing *808*80# and you can get their music from anywhere within the country.
The group is also very excited about the New Year and all that they have in store for 2016 as they also have the possibility of even more collaborations.
“We are very excited about this release. It is the first of many great things we are planning for 2016. We promise our dear fans that they will not be disappointed”, said Maureen on this.
On the same subject, Bryan added, “Chameleone is one of the most humble human beings I have ever met. The experiences that he shared and his wit behind music is second to none. He opened my eyes to so many new ways of writing songs. He never writes anything down. He just enters the recording booth and all of a sudden everything lights up. It’s like he steps into a musical heaven.”
The group also thanked their fans for their continued support and has promised more from where ‘My Darling’ came from. You can definitely expect many more soulful amazing tracks from the Kookoo hitmakers that will have you dancing to their tunes.
